I know I will..

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

I think so, but still waiting to see the first shittymorph meme show up on here to cement my position.

Staying here. I run the OSR and Chiptune communities. Can't leave now.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Oh we have an OSR community now? Alongside the terrain building/mini painting subs that's one of the ones I missed the most. Nice one!

I probably will - I moved here with the rest of Reddit Exodus and I’m not planning on going back. My activity here is absurdly low (although I could argue that it’s good for me), Apollo was great for keeping me hooked.

I don't know. The front page is confusing. When I press "all" and "hot" threads with 10 upvotes show up at the top. When I press "top of a day" I get some better posts, but soon new posts with 0 upvotes appear above them. It's all confusing and honestly, it's a mess. When I sort comments by top, I get comments with 0 upvotes at the top.
No kind of sorting seems to be doing what I want it to do.

I like it here and I don't like it anywhere else.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Yes. Only thing I found really useful on Reddit was consolidated news. Nearly everything else was a time waster. I refuse to use their mobile app so I’m not going anywhere. I’ve been saving so much time not mindlessly scrolling on Reddit.

I'd like to inform you that you will now be the recipients of most of my shitposting. Sorry!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

That's the plan. I'm strongly invested in leaving Reddit for good.

I do have some concerns regarding the scalability of the Lemmy as a whole though. Seems like sync issues are a frequent problem.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Likely, yes. I'm not sure about longevity yet, but most of the subs I really enjoyed already have a presence here. No matter how it turns out, I really hope that lemmy becomes a viable alternative at least, to spark some healthy competition.

I won't religiously stay away from the old plattform though. There is still a lot of good answers for a lot of problems, though I already feel sticky when clicking on reddit links. The same way like when you have to buy something from amazon.

I'm not minding it. The instance (or app itself) seems slow, but overall okay. I'm just hoping the content shifts away from talking about how bad Reddit is and more about providing its own content.

Please add community groups (multireddits), so I can manage big collections of community. For now, the main timeline is a mess.

[–] BreakNeckJim 2 points 2 years ago

Absolutely! It's refreshing and community owned and run!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Yes! Reddit is blocked in my DNS server so they will not get any traffic from me. Lemmy and Mastodon are where I'm at.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

I dunno. I've been on Reddit for 16 years. I really really really like the RES (Reddit Enhancement Suite) style of expanding images and doom scrolling. It's my morning binge.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Once my reddit app stops working I won't have a choice but to find a new home. Subreddits are burning in ways that can't be easily reversed and will take years to naturally grow back.

As long as I can find news and memes, I will stay here.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Yes! I like the platform and the philosophy behind it, the only thing missing nis more users!

Yes. $p3d can LIGMA and SUGONDESE. I hope a good mobile version comes along soon.

I'm staying here on Lemmy, this platform seems like it has much more promise than Reddit and centralized platforms like Reddit.

Don't get me wrong platforms like squabbles are cool and all but in the end they're not federated and that means they're going to end up meeting very similar if not the same fate as Reddit itself is meeting right now.

Yes. I never used Reddit that much. About a post per week or so. But I feel much more "at home" on lemmy so actually I already use lemmy more than I ever used Reddit.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Can't say for certain, but I'm never going back to reddit unless they repeal their new API changes.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Absolutely!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Yes! Has a lot of potential and growing every day.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Staying? I just spent the last WEEK spending all day every day on deep diving the fediverse.

Yes. I am staying 😁

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

I was 50/50, but the developer of Sync for Reddit is working to support Lemmy, so if that goes well I'm much more likely to stay.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I already love it! I'm really dedicated to giving Lemmy a chance!
