Australia is a live example of the fact that they're not. The state and federal governments have privatised a crap load of services and all they do is continue to hike our bills while providing less and less service. Electricity, water supply, employment services and more are now an absolute joke here.

You can actually by making the families cost of living and housing needs affordable on one parents income. One off baby bonus bribes and stuff that governments do will never actually work when both parents have to work themselves Into dust just to make ends meet.

Should be an age limit for politics, like retirement age.

You shouldn't use Brave simply because it's heavily infected with crypto shit and tries to monitorize your web browsing time by default. Not everything you do has to be a side hustle.

Sure you can "switch it off" but then why not use something else in the first place that's focus isn't trying to make money out of you. If Brave ever gained any decent market share the web would be an even shitter place than what Google is suggesting at the moment.

Posts to videos on Imgur just show up as weird sweaty soccer balls in the app, rather than showing a preview of the video itself.

For example.

Sounds like a skill issue on your behalf.

A pen and paper, for work.

You know those people who seem useless and forgetful all the time? They don't write anything down so they are lost when they try to do things and too embarrassed to ask for advice again because they forgot what you told them. You also end up repeating stuff to them over and over again when they just don't do a task or mess it up.

Don't be that person, write stuff down!

I wouldn't buy YouTube Premium either and they have significant hosting costs compared to the this app. So do the Lemmy server owners as well.

I think the dev deserves compensation for their app but the asking price is too much, for me anyway.

My only criticism is the subscription fee instead of a one off charge for the full set of features. I would like a lot of them but I don't need cloud sync or another ongoing cost to worry about.

I think he'll just deliver some reskinned FOSS projects at best.

Its one thing to make a color chart, its a whole other thing to make all of Adobe.

However, Hwang tells me, he was also offered a new handle of his choice – as long as it's available. He just hasn't picked one yet.

Probably one of the few useful bots ever added to Reddit.

We didn't need a million and one spelling, grammar and whatever other stupid bots the place got infected with. Hopefully Lemmy doesn't end up with them either.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's up over there where it suddenly became not ok to punch Nazis.

It used to be even mainstream media encouraged punching Nazis. Don't watch an old Blues Brothers movie if punching Nazis offends you too I guess.
