When people ask questions like this they need to clarify if Netflix is included in their definition of tv.
In my opinion watching TV is watching TV regardless of the source.
But people need to clarify the question.
No TV and no Netflix here. Does YouTube count?
If you are using it to watch 30 second to 6 minute videos then no.
If you are using it to watch full length movies or full TV episodes, then yes in my definition it does.
Who watches movie and TV shows on YouTube?
I watch primarily YouTube and it's all hobby/educational content. And it's not 6 minute videos. It sounds like you're stuck in 2005 YouTube era.
I actually have YouTube TV which is their live tv package.
Which is a different service called YouTube TV, so yeah, probably reasonable to call it 'watching TV' in that case, considering it's in the name.
oh yeah I wasn't arguing that. Even YouTube makes the distinction but it is still technically YouTube.
It's called linear television now.
TV? What's that?
Everything through my laptop. Except for a shared Netflix account that costs me 5 bucks a month, and I only watch it on my phone.
TV? What's that?
We all know Frankenstein is the doctor, not the monster.
How does it cost $5/month?
shared
Aha, thanks
We split the costs, as I said my part is 5. Because shared.
Makes perfect sense now. I think my brain had a moment
i dont watch television i more often stream or pirate.
Plex + HDHR = beautiful.
For everything else I just sail some seas.
Helps that I'm a lifetime plex member and have been for a long time now.
Sonarr/Radarr > Jellyfin > Nvidia shield > Denon AVR > LG OLED π€
No, I don't
I have a local plex server and obtain all my media with other methods

Not 100% true. A while back I bought a ton of dvds from a going out a business sale for like 10c each. I ripped them onto my server and stuck the dvd in storage.
I'm talking over 150 movies for cheap
Thatβs awesome!
I've never had TV since I moved out from home.
Neither at the moment, but cable is actually getting more appealing giving the constant splintering of streaming services.
I use neither.
Where I live, you get very little over air TV. In fact, I'm not sure there's anything now.
We don't pay for TV, but I have a little yo-ho-ho station, check out DVDs from the library, stream, or occasionally watch one of those free Pluto channels if I just want background noise
I had an antenna set up to see what I could get, and I can pick up affiliates from all the major networks, which is nice.
But it's so full of commercials I can't stand watching anything other than PBS so I took it down.
Yeah you really need something to record the TV then watch it later skipping the commercials in order for it to be useful.
I pay for cable, even pay extra for HBOs and 24/7 porn channel, tho this latter costs me $0.0028 per month so why not (it's bad).
what cable package do you have?
well, I'm in Hungary and have Digi TV subscription (it's a Romanian carrier that's in service in my country as well)
around 4 years ago when I contracted with them it was super cheap. since then it's almost 3 times more expensive. it's a usual thing here that long-time subscribers pay more and more just for fun I guess?
I use over-the-air supplemented by a few streaming services. After years of cable, it was startling how much better the picture and sound are with OTA. It used to be that cable was better quality, but they have compressed it down to the point where it is just barely acceptable.
USA here. Where I live if you want to watch anything you have to pay for it or ride the high seas. OTA doesnβt work in rural communities, this signal is too weak from the big cities, and even in the city OTA can be questionable based on location.
Never had problems with OTA signal in my area. I did have a antenna on the roof in all of my locations so that might have helped.
Yea, see I live in an apartment, so I am stuck using those indoor antennas
USA: Have an antenna for OTA, don't actually use it much.
I have over the air, but I mostly use the internet
I have an OTA antenna but it's really just there in case we need news and the internet is out. In the same we that there's a crank radio in my emergency supplies. Everything else is Roku.
Ota + Plex + pluto
My TV is used for F1 (via now TV - internet stream) and occasionaly YouTube and occasionaly video/games of my laptop.
If I did watch TV content it would likely be on iPlayer etc as I would never know when to watch things live
No
In Sweden we have to pay for TV through taxes. And then they use the money to make propaganda programs paid by the tax payers. Works well for keeping the population docile.
