I too like burying my head in the sand in an effort to maximize profits. Money money money.

It's so obvious it hurts. Art of the deal: fuck everybody who isn't me.

But this is what they voted for. Why defy the American people?

All the flap about Greenland is a clear admission that serious climate change is coming, though.

He just believes his supporters aren't capable of reading that out.

I'm not sure yet.

How does that work, I hope that whatever happened during previous administration is still archived somehow.

[–] Banana 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

With how determined some people are with archiving, id be surprised if it wasn't.

[–] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Don't forget these people are also very determined to destroy it all !

[–] Banana 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

That's a really vast generalization to make about their beliefs. I remember stumbling across the subreddit for some of these data hoarder people and it seems most of them just want backups of historical data

Edit: I just realized you mightve been talking about the trump administration being determined to destroy it. Here's hoping there are too many copies for that to happen 🤞

[–] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah I'm talking about religious people wanting to destroy scientific records and books.

I for sure hope that with the digital age, we will be able to backup/copy/save as much as possible. Because they are here to destroy it.

[When we abandon the scientific process and choose whatever conclusion best suits our whims, preferences, or proclivities, the underlying scientific reality doesn’t stop being true. We simply suffer the consequences that come along with choosing a less-than-optimal path for dealing with the very real problems that we’re facing.]
