I saw one in person for the first time just the other week. No matter how obvious it might seem by looking at pictures and videos, they really are that ugly and seeing one in person is different.

I think they're pretty cool looking. My only issue is the impracticality of the storage. And the reliability. And the finish getting stained by anything. And all the recalls. And the sharp edges. And the UI. And Tesla's main guy. And the price. Otherwise I'd buy one.

I totally agree. Except, I think they are quite ugly.

They look like what a ten year old boy would think it's cool.

They're the 2020s DeLoreans. Watch. In 20-years collectors will bring them back.

Except I bet they wont even function by then unless buyers also homebrew Tesla online services. At least DeLoreans aren’t Internet connected and can’t be disabled remotely.

They definitely look worse in person. They look like they were welded together in someone's backyard lmao

There's really no capturing it on pics. In person they're so ugly it's funny. It might be that they're bigger than I realized from the pics, and that they're so friggin heavy that they sort of bounce over bumps, but they're just terrible.

I'm surprised by how many of them I see though. I'm sure that's partly because there's no missing one of it's in visual range, combined with the fact that I'm in southern California, where EVs are generally very popular.

Is it because they're fugly and prone to malfunctions?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

No its because they’re hilariously expensive and fascist.

I will never not think that the person driving one of those monstrosities is a cringe inducing moronic dipshit. They are so much worse in person than on photos.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Every time I see one I imagine the driver is shielding their eyes in shame screaming "Don't look at me!!"

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 month ago

Nah, I figure they're probably a bit of a tool.

Although I did buy a used coffee maker from a guy with one. He seemed kinda sheepish about it when I asked what car he was in in the parking lot. Anyway, now I'm drinking a ton of cappuccinos with a machine I got really cheap thanks to this guy.

I really cannot wait until the full realization of how grossly overrated Tesla stock is and to watch as it completely collapses under the weight of its own bloat.

Not disastrous enough.

It has been hard to track Tesla’s sales because the automaker is the most opaque when it comes to breaking down sales per model. Tesla bundles sales of Model 3 and Model Y together and all other vehicles (Model S, Model X, Cybertruck, and Tesla Semi) into its “other models” category.

Today, Tesla released its Q4 delivery numbers and confirmed that it delivered 23,640 units of its “other models.”

Minus the ~16,000 non-Cyberfucks thats . . not many. Hilarious that they’re so concealed.

Doesn't seem that way in Texas. I see them almost daily. Usually wrapped but some raw also.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Funny how they suddenly love electric cars when they're assuaged that the CEO is sufficiently awful.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Yeah that, uh. That tracks.

There’s a Tesla dealership just outside my town and I’ve noticed several cyber trucks pilling up in front of it.

The majority of the cyber trucks I’ve ever seen IRL are in that “please buy me” pile. LOL.
