Context: 3 year+ problem. Started with a gaming laptop and the problem still persists even with my new desktop.
The problem: Whenever I connect my laptop (or desktop) to wifi, the entire wifi goes down for everyone connected to it after a few minutes. Bluetooth devices keep getting disconnected as well (bluetooth speaker will say it's disconnected, and then say connected after 1 second). After a few minutes, the wifi returns, but the problem repeats itself frequently.
More info:
- Laptop is an Acer Predator Helios 300 (2021 model). Desktop has a Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX Wifi + BT motherboard.
- When I disconnect my laptop or desktop from the wifi, everything goes back to normal.
- This happened to three separate and different networks already, which leads me to believe the problem is being caused by my devices.
- Mobile data has no problems. Using my phone as a mobile hotspot works flawlessly.
- I have tried reinstalling wifi and bluetooth drivers on both laptop and desktop, but the problems persist.
- 3+ year problem because I thought it was only my laptop, but after recently buying a desktop and having the same problem, I knew something weird was going on.
I have no idea what to do anymore. Any help is appreciated. If you all need more info, I'll be happy to provide them.
