Now, I know this plays into a "No true Scotsman" response but I also think that most large scale implementations have been absolute shit. I curse WW1 and strokes preventing Lenin from establishing a more stable soviet (aka council) based government and Stalin can eat a bag of dicks...
So, is it possible to get to a council republic without falling into authoritarianism? Not certain, but it's absolutely worth some more genuine attempts (and maybe a gradual solution through Democratic Socialism is the road to take).

Any typical conservative pearl clutching reason you can imagine, along with actually having interest in communism. Are you critical of the present government’s actions? Are you advocating loudly for rights? Are you a vocal supporter of labor? Are you accused of being gay?
All of this is pretty easily verifiable, from the Lavender Scare to McCarthy’s actions silencing criticism of America’s actions in the Cold War. Basically, typical conservative scaremongering attacking the “left” except on a bigger scale.
Because the stupid government would think that Social Democrats / Democratic Socialists, is equivalent to Marxism-Leninism. 🤦♂️

Probably for trying to demonize communist regimes while simultaneously saying that not everyone in a communist country should be demonized because there are those that don't believe it and are suffering and trying to escape for a better life.
