It's literally just to help them feel confident so that they may do more without ever understanding the fundamentals behind inevitable death.

"Go do it, soldier! Remember your training!"

"Hell yeah!"

The reality being everyone within 10m of that swingset would discover the limitations of mortality.

Even the most rudimentary of drones makeshifted with a HE grenade would... Well, put a live HE on that swing and...yeah.

But don't tell the fresh blood that!
