It would still work with the biweekly

You get 10k every 2 weeks? I wish I got that much

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago (2 children)

That's like 400k a year pre-tax salary. If they're making that much and still can't afford a nice meal, they've got some serious problems with budgeting and restraint.

Food $200 Rent $800 Gorilla couch $10 000

Someone help me budget this.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

That's easy. Let's assume you take home 18,000 a month. To get the couch, cut your food budget in half and skip rent for 1 month.

Using the extra $900 to hire a moving company to get the couch in.

Next month, you going to face late fees Again, cut the food budget in half, and use the $900 for rent.

Repeat for matching Tiger and Panther couches.

If your landlord complains about the late and unpaid rent, just remind them its all for the couches. They'll understand and leave you alone. That being said, be sure to place the couches so one can be easily moved in front the door whenever you're there.

Does your year have 24 months or your months have 8 weeks?

[–] [email protected] -1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You pay like 40% tax at that salary.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Are you high? That's not how tax brackets work and 10k/2weeks is 240k a year

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

I did not use a calculator the first time, but I don't think I was that far off.

This calculator says that if you live in California making $400k a year, your takehome pay is $238k

How bout living off of credit cards with no consideration for financial responsibility because money just feels made up at this point?

Month 1-6: 1000006487

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago

I just started a job getting paid monthly. The thing is, my first check at the beginning of this month was only for about a week and a half so I got no 🦍🛋️ this time around.

It's wild to me, that there seem to be so many payment schemes.

In Germany you get paid monthly, either always on the first or always 15th, but that's pretty much all variation we have. Even unemployment benefits and parental leave support is monthly.

Japan is monthly for at least salaried jobs and most pay on the 25th (or prior business day if weekend or holiday). I think once-monthly is the legal minimum, but some jobs will pay cash same day.

Idk about the welfare dog, I'd probably opt for a cheese toast.

Uhhhh you need to take better care of yourself and do some serious reflection.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago

Right, they should've gotten two of the couches.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I had a job that paid semi monthly. Every 1st and 15th. This meme definitely fits on those 31 day months.

That is one awesome sofa. Shame it's the price of my net worth

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Yeah. Most of my formative years where spent with both of my parents living off assistance. It was steak on the 3rd of the month and ramen the rest of the month.

When I moved out I was flabbergasted to learn many of my classmates & colleagues considered McDonald's cheap and would eat out regularly, and some of them didn't even count fast food as eating out. While we would go only like when we were traveling to visit family.

chuckles in monthly pay

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

You lucky bastard. Where I live it's basically monthly or fortnightly. I've never heard of anyone being paid weekly.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I bet you could get a really neat vest to match that sofa

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Do you have something more like a sweater?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Nah that's just week 3. Mortgage gets taken on week 1.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

This is accurate as hell

I can't be the only one that only eats hotdogs on special occasions.

they're so expensive.

[–] Corkyskog 1 points 4 days ago

Some joke I don't understand?

Just buy Bar-S brand hot dogs. They are usually a dollar for an 8 pack of hot dogs. Sometimes they will be on sale for 50 cents.
