Correct, but purchasing US arms means the US has some opinions on what you do with them, which you follow or you don't get to buy more.

Normally. otoh we're letting Israel do whatever the fuck they want so I don't see why Poland should be any different.

NATO shares military equipment, Most European countries "lend lease" things like tanks, planes, APC, Artillery, etc

Other countries get to build and modify the designs but still need permission to do things that are outside of "self defence"
