The sale was on July 1–almost 3 months ago— and the price was lower than on the day the lawsuit was announced.

Are you the only one in here who bothered to look? I saw your comment and decided to look, too, and unless I'm reading this wrong, you're right and I don't understand the point of this story.

I believed these stories for a long time until I learned that Nancy Pelosi did not outperform the S&P.

Disguised Republican propaganda, there hasn't been a year where Pelosi was number one since people started keeping an eye on her moves and she's always getting beat by a bunch of Republicans no one cares about.

Nothing disguised about it

[–] Kecessa 2 points 2 months ago

Considering that most people don't realize that she's not #1 and that she even got beat by the S&P in 2022, I think it's fair to say that it's pretty well disguised

The point is to make people angry.

FOX Business: FOX News but we make finance dicks feel smart

Republicans are obsessed with pelosi owning stocks as if she’s the only person in Congress who does it. I guess it takes the heat of everyone else… I read a list of the top 10 stock owners and profit makers in Congress, one of course the top ones were republicans.

Also, if you were paying any attention to Visa as an investor it has been obvious for awhile now that the company is underperforming.

Everyone should be mad about this shit. Everyone.

I’m a democrat and get tired of this woman prancing around doing whatever the fuck she wants. Why can congress, or close family, even be allowed to own stock? Of course this bullshit will keep happening and nothing will be done about it.

These people need to be set to higher standards than this.

[–] Kecessa 19 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It happened 3 months before and Republicans always beat her

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They still shouldn't be trading individual stocks, whether they have inside information or not.

[–] Kecessa 5 points 2 months ago

Sure, I'm just saying there's a reason why it's always her that media talks about even when it's clearly not insider trading and even if she always gets beaten by Republicans.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What would you think about their holdings and trades being allowed, but having to be public?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

If jimmy carter sold his peanut farm so there wouldn’t be any self interest optics while he was president, these congressmen can wait it out until they are no longer serving the public interest

[–] [email protected] -3 points 2 months ago

Exactly. This isn’t as much about Nancy as it is about politicians abusing their power.

Illegalize congressman owning stocks

[–] [email protected] -3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

agreed. This shouldn't even be partisan.

Is anyone surprised anymore? Wasn't she the one who didn't let a bill, that prevent them from investing, from passing? Politicians don't care anymore. They do illegal things in plain ~~site~~ sight because they know people won't do shit. Bitch has been getting re-elected since 1676

[–] Kecessa 10 points 2 months ago

I'll be surprised when they start talking about all the Republicans that beat her every year

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

Bitch has been getting re-elected since 1676

This made me really laugh out loud.

[–] [email protected] -5 points 2 months ago

I admit I use to see it as a non-issue but my opinion has changed. Politicians should not own individual stocks.

[–] [email protected] -4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Kind of inspiring to see our normal downvote brigades find an issue we can agree on.

Let’s join force on this issue.
