I want to use my MiG switch dumper to copy a game and have me and my buddy play them at the same time.

If we both play the same one online at the same time do we risk a ban?

I noticed that previous articles about it mentioned you could actually fake certificates and make it seem like two different games were playing? Does anyone know if that's still a thing?

Yes.

You would still be risking a ban.

Would be interested about the fake certificate things, do you have some sources or info ?

I saw that on an article about the MiG switch before it came out and it was saying at the time that you could still fake certs and Nintendo didn't have a monitoring system in place for it.

I'm sure they've changed it now though especially from that other users comment you replied to but was halfway hoping someone might tell me it was still possible.

I would be more interested to know if you can generate/copy a certificate to make any cartridge dump work without a need to find a certificate for said game. The other interesting thing is considering switch 2 will be retrocompatible, mig switch will probably/maybe work on it while waiting for an exploit. The question considering that the launch is probably in less than a year, can they do something about it and did they intend to do something different for switch 2 exclusives in terms of cartridge technology...

Supposedly even cloud saves of a dirty game can get you banned.

I don't know if that's true and am not really engaged with the piracy stuff. I did hack mine and have some of my cartridges ripped so I don't have to swap them, and intend to install Android, so I've seen the basic guides and explored, and people have the impression that almost any time a copied game touches a Nintendo server there's a risk.
