Not really. Just some links in the sidebar would serve the same purpose as the list of subforumsl

I've heard this bug before about other instances. Try to search for it and I'll also do the same tomorrow

That I am 😁

Cleared cache?

Sounds like mastodon and other services ought to really support this extension though.

I actually don't care to grow my readership, I've been blogging for 20 years now but it's more of a personal space to write some opinions. Nevertheless thanks for the long analysis. I think some things go against the my style, but will seem what I can retain.

OK, so is lemmy out of standard or not? Like I can understand why lemmy doesn't support apub notes, as it's out of scope, but why does mastodon support articles badly?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

You can actually do that on lemmy already like so. Sorting by new doesn't use the voting. Hell you can even sort them like a forum by sorting by "new comments"

There's no reason for subforums even in that case. You can easily have multiple communities the same way XDA has.

I am the author. Heard you were talking shit...

I kid, I kid :D

I insist that in their current form, reddit (and lemmy) can serve as both forums and link aggregators with comment sections.

Not gonna lie, I'd love for better integration between services, but I am fairly sure I saw lemmy devs adamantly insisting they're following apub and mastodon is doing it wrong so 🤷

I’m curious to hear your thoughts about publishing a post like that on your blog and then publishing a link to it here in the fediverse. Obviously you expect the discussion to occur here rather than in the curiously-still-enabled Wordpress comments. Would it be better to post the original content on Lemmy, but you still feel tied to Wordpress and having an RSS feed? Does Lemmy still feel like an experiment that might end whereas the blog is more still your own content repository?

This is how it works on Mastodon btw. If you comment on this post, it will appear as comment on wordpress as well. Allowing interaction between people in and out of fediverse.

For lemmy however, one needs to post to a community, so a wordpress post cannot stand alone. I won't lie however, I'd love to say to my wordpress "Post this to so-and-so lemmy community automatically" instead of mastodon, and have the lemmy comments sync to my wordpress. But unfortunately the wordpress plugin was developed with Mastodon in mind only as it's the elephant in the room. Maybe people can ask the plugin devs to allow this, but I'm too busy to follow up on this myself.

A bit of an effortpost :)

Please do crosspost in more fitting communities if you think of any

It begins...

Interesting side-note, reddit's anti-VPN policies and blocking some archivers like ghostarchive.

Boomers (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

It all started with the unofficial godot discord admin dealing with some chuds and people turning their ire towards the Godot Foundation staff instead.

Since Godot has stubbornly remained on the Xitter nazi bar as a valid space for PR and social media interaction and dared to promote the Wokot hashtag and reiterate their progessiveness, the reactionaries infesting that space are now piling on their socials and harassing everyone they can get their eyes on.

Examples

Anyway, solidarity with the targets of harassment. I hope they finally realize that Xitter is a lost cause.

Update: Godot is being review-bombed

Fortunately the reactionary backlash seems to be having the opposite effect

Gets caught being racist in the past.

People in turn thought it was the official discord server and that Xananax an official member, and started harassing the actual Godot staff. They are forced to ban people who appear to be harassing them for no reason. Today they posted a statement to clarify

Update: Statement from Xananax

Looks like this is actually a reactionary response to them stopping hate speech in their server.

Hey everyone, I have been forced to disable the mlmym frontent which you would have reached from old. and mlmym. simulating the old reddit interface. Something has been broken in it for the past months and it's been causing me headaches. My inquiries to the developers have gone unanswered.

I will consider re-adding it when issues are resolved.
