Since it was a Conservative Republican who shot at him. Would they be retaliating against other republicans?

Or (more likely) would they be like the drunk idiots at the bar who just start swinging at anything that moves in their stupidity and anger?

[–] [email protected] 41 points 4 months ago

The latter of course. This is the excuse the ammosexuals needed to Do Bad Things.

It's only fair if Biden gets shot in the ear too - Both Siders

[–] [email protected] 20 points 4 months ago

Since a conservative shot Trump, it is our duty as liberals to nick Biden so that it's fair.

Maybe some of the craziest, who believed in the most craziest stuff, and thus will feel the most wrong-doed/betrayed, starts to understand it was just lies?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

This entire election has been nothing but drunk idiots swinging at anything that moves

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Can we say conclusively the shooter was a conservative Republican? I know they were registered to the party but they also donated to Democratic campaigns. I think ascribing any kind of political affiliation or motivation to him is premature

[–] [email protected] 32 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

The donation was from a different person, and his classmates have said he's a conservative, and his parents had Trump signs in their yard

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

Do you have a source for the donation? I just read a Forbes article and they’re still reporting he made the donation

[–] Captainvaqina 28 points 4 months ago (1 children)

His high school classmates said that he was staunchly conservative.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

Hadn’t seen that, thanks

You mean to tell me that the ex-president who has consistently dog whistled for violence, terrorism and general fascism in every other breath is…

…gasp…

Facing those same ideologies himself?!? The same guy who instigated an INSURRECTION ON THE FUCKING CAPITAL???? No way bro this has got to be fake news, how could we possibly have come to this conclusion?!

---

And the left are the ones who “eat themselves.”

What an utter fucking joke the Conservative Party is, honest to god

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (2 children)

What an utter fucking joke the Conservative Party is,

Conservative Party? Does that exist in the USA?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago

Yes, it's called the Democratic party.

The Republican party is whatever you call an insane wannabe fascist theocracy.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Yep, different from others around the world however.

Think “I want archaic things to re-become the status quo, we hate gays, women’s rights, etc”

Basically the opposite of being progressive or modern with your ideologies

I often wonder what kind of violence there will be if Trump loses in November. Then I wonder what kind of violence there will be, further down the line, if he wins.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Honestly if Trump loses I expect maybe a Jan 6 level event but no broad violence from his army of couch potatoes. And Jan 6 level event is less likely just given that now the govt should be better prepared for it…

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

I believe the National Guard will be more prepared this go round.

[–] Audacious 19 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Agencies are probably watching the rightwing nutcases making plans, like how they knew Russia was going to invade shortly before it happened.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The trans furry communists of Lemmy hacked the heritage foundation just days before the attempt on Trump's life. While they would love to investigate both at the same time, they don't have the man power.

The agencies have no choice but to investigate in the order the crimes happen. So right wingers, your follow up acts of terrorism should be investigated some time in the first quarter of twenty-twenty-never.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

This comment is a rollercoaster.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

Anyone with half a mind knows that the NSA is doubletiming their data scraping right now.

Which should clear up the communication lines to make catching the MAGA terrorists easier.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

Oh no! Anyway...

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

One thing that makes me a little hopeful is that there have been opportunities already for truly horrible violence from the right and when the moment has presented itself the right wingers have shied away. It seems like the leftists are more willing to be arrested just for being there. So maybe we underestimate how important it was that the brownshirts and blackshirts were veterans who had already spent years committing horrific acts of violence, and the ammosexuals will stick with talking big and only a small handful of them will ever do more than that.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

Ah yes the famous quote: Speak loudly and carry a big stick, but don't use it just take pictures with it.
