Do you remember the bans on Muslims, the kids in cages and separating kids (especially girls) from their families (many still haven't been found), the bribes taken, letting the Erdegon's goons rough up protestors, etc., etc. I seriously could go on for paragraphs and this all happened in our country. Our options are either an evil POS or a guy who caters to one of our allies way too much.
