When you see how insanely high some fines were the whole approach of punishing music piracy destroyed countless lives and cost a ton of people a lot of money. I think there was even prsion time for some. For something that doesn't even hurt the Industry. People who participate in that shit are literal villains.
The fines were so out of proportion. It's like I sit on your glasses and now i have to pay you $100k
Least metal thing of all time. I don’t know if he apologized or what because everyone seems to have forgiven/forgotten.
Or before. You know, anyone better than a glorified metronome
Lostprophets. It should be obvious who and why.
I also think Guns'n Roses have soome fucking awesome riffs and songs, but I find Axl Rose to be an insufferable cunt of a diva. Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Adler should have released Appetite for Destruction with a different vocalist.
Axl Rose seems like a dick, but would it have been the same band without him? His really unusual voice is a lot of the appeal of the music imo
🎶Where do we go now🎶 ... nowhere without Axl.
The epic tracks in use your illusion were mostly Axl, that could count for or against.
I loved their first album, listened to it a lot. Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja and The Fake Sound of Progress are both amazing tracks. Unfortunately they're both vocalized by a literal baby rapist, so it's hard to rock out to them now. Asshole wrote the tracks too, so I doubt No Devotion will ever cover them.
As for Guns N' Roses, a friend pointed out something that's been living in my head for months now: Axl Rose is the Starscream of Guns N' Roses.
They could record it with Miles Kennedy. I like his voice better than Axl’s from what I’ve heard. I would listen to it.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Anthony Kiedis statutorily raped a 14 yo.
I like their music and had friends who played them a lot through a great period in my life. But, when I hear them now and can’t not think “that fucker’s a pedophile”.
This one bums me out because Chad Smith is a great drummer and seems like such a a good dude.
I really don't think their music would have changed much if Milli or Vanilli wasn't in Milli Vanilli.
I see what you did there. Do we live in the same senior center?
Along those same lines, Limp Bizkit because of Fred Durst. They still would have been pretty mid, but maybe I wouldn't go out of my way to skip their songs when they sneak onto my playlists.
Fuck Fred Durst. Fucking riff-stealing crybaby.
He stole riffs?
Indeed he did. Years ago, they were holding auditions in my area for a new guitarist after Wes Borland left. They asked people to demo stuff they had written, rather than try to play along with their current songs. After auditions wrapped, they didn't pick anyone and life went on.
Cut to a few months later when their next album dropped. The local rock station that helped sponsor the audition starts getting numerous calls from people saying the material they demoed during the audition got incorporated into songs from the new album. No credit or compensation was given to any of them. From that point on, the radio station rightfully blacklisted them.
I've always told my friend who is a huge Morrissey fan that The Smiths would have been better without Morrissey to troll him.
Its unfortunate, since I enjoy FFDP music. But yeah the lead singer is a violent abusive asshole
In case anyone doesn't know, he tried to murder his (now ex) wife. As in, towel stuffed down her throat, his hands around her neck, and screaming, "I'll kill you," when the cops got there. And someone dropped the charges, for some fucking reason.
Smashing Pumpkins. I hear their intros and guitars and I’m like “oh cool”, then in comes that screeching loser Billy Corgan, his voice the sound of a thousand fingernails on a thousand blackboards.
Muse without the vocals.
Love the instrumentals, vocals strike me as written by a teenage theatre kid. Overly dramatic and theatrical in a way that doesn't fit well imo.
Will listen to the first 45 seconds of "assassin" then it's tike to turn it off lol https://youtu.be/nNPSSs1xnpY?si=sfnQHjlgclCEwWwZ
I feel the same about a lot of metal. I often really love the instrumental portion of lots of really heavy metal, then often the vocalist opens his fucking mouth and ruins it.
Muse was once described to me as the Queen of the modern era. I struggled so hard not to laugh. Muse is alright. They sure as hell ain't even close to Queen vocally or musically.
Bellamy has larped as Jeff Buckley since the very beginning.
Guns N Roses. It amazes me that there are people who listen to them in purpose. I can't stand them. But 90% of it is just because of Axl Rose. Slash is a great guitarist, and it's a shame he's drowned out by the sounds of a clown punching a cat.
GNR is definitely one where I like the singing sometimes and hate it others. Strongly depends on the song.
I feel you on ffdp.
And it sucks because their sound is great. And I dig his vocals. But gods damn, the lyrics are just so juvenile, fratboyish, edgelord bullshit most of the time. Like, if you take individual songs, it isn't too bad; nothing wrong with a little bit of lyrical bullshit now and then. But it's pretty much every song, so it wears thin after a while.
Yeah, they sound good, his voice is great. I like American Capitalist (I just assume it's satire) and and Wrong Side of Heaven makes me feel some shit (being a veteran), they're covers are pretty good, but a lot of it falls flat or just eh.
I'd be more likely to listen to AC/DC without Brian Johnson. He hasn't done anything wrong (that I know of) and he's a talented vocalist, but that rasping voice of his makes me wince every time I hear it. Does he gargle glass shards?
Pretty much every member of Gloryhammer

I don't know what Michael Keene is doing in The Faceless but he goes through band members like most people go through socks
Keene has struggled a lot with drugs over the years. He's notoriously difficult to work with. Its a shame because he's an incredible musician. I really hope he can get his shit together.
Justin Sane from anti flag used his fame to rape people. I can't listen to them anymore without thinking of this, which sucks
Yep, I have removed AF from all my playlists.
Honestly... Maynard from TOOL. Tool is my favorite band for decades at this point but if anyone had to go, it would be him. We'd get more albums from Danny, Adam and Justin and none of the snobby asshole attitude MJK brings to the band. I'm not anti-MJK but I'd love to get a version of TOOL without him in the mix.
