I mean, it’s also a Euro plug with US pins. I’ve never seen that mashup before. 🤷‍♀️

There is the occasional round one out there, but they wouldn’t have “the France hole”.

The holes allow the socket to grip the plug more firmly according to this page.

But, yes. These plugs are completely normal in Japan at least.

technology connections made a video on it, none of the sockets actually use the holes, and ones that do, do it unintentionally

Would you say the lack of the hole is not very interesting?
