How does this not end with Biden assassinating Trump because he's an insurrectionist? It's an official act and he'd be immune from prosecution.

[–] [email protected] 55 points 3 months ago (5 children)

Because Biden has morals that he mostly lives by

[–] [email protected] 51 points 3 months ago

But what if he did it for the lols? I think that's morally acceptable, and my demographic would be more likely to vote for him. At this point fuck it, let's play by their rules

[–] [email protected] -5 points 3 months ago

LOL

lmao even.

By stalling the case until after the election

What's to stop Biden from assassinating three or four Supreme Court Justices and then nominating a few that will rule sooner and in his favor?

I don't hope for anyone's death. I want criminals to face justice, and assassinations are not justice. I don't want a president with that kind of power. I don't want anyone to be able to use force to take and keep power. America is built on the idea that the power of the people is stronger than any tyrant.

It would be an official act since trump jeopardizes democracy.

The state of SCOTUS is abhorrent. We truly are on the verge of a second Civil War. The terrorists have successfully infiltrated all levels of government. And they are not the terrorists featured on your local Fixed News affiliate. It’s your neighbors and often times rural areas.

Democrats won the battle (ie, reclaiming presidency) but have lost the war.

I agree, and I think the scarier reality is this, if Donald Trump gets back into office the following things will occur:

  • He will force Roberts, Thomas, and Alito to step down during his presidency so he can guarantee indefinite control of the court for the next 40-50 years.

  • Once that is done his cronies will set up whatever legal challenges are necessary before the court to guarantee federal oversight of the elections in swing states.

  • They will be firing the majority of the Federal Employees, and will begin strategically staffing vacancies from their ranks in positions that allow them to commit economic warfare on states who do not submit to their will.

I don't think people really understand how bad this can get, and how fast it can get there. The level of economic slavery they can impose in 4 years with the kind of shrewd, competent, and abjectly evil sociopaths that are lying in wait this time around is going to blow people's fucking minds.

Trump could nominate his kids for Scotus... :(

Give Biden supreme power or quit the BS. It’s not so much that I want him to have this power, it’s more so that I don’t want Trump to exist…and I’m hoping with ultimate power, Biden makes the ultimately right decision

[–] [email protected] 20 points 3 months ago

I’m hoping with ultimate power, Biden makes the ultimately right decision.

Democrats, unfortunately, have an annoying tendency to cling to honor while the walls are being torn down around them.
Biden will absolutely "do the right thing" from the honorable point of view and just roll with the election results, and peacefully hand power to Trump if he wins.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Biden could end billionaires with unlimited power.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The courts could declare Biden king and his apologists would still pretend his hands are tied.

He appointed famously "acceptable to republicans until Obama nominated him" MERRICK GARLAND as AG. That along with his actions and lack of same with regards to the Israeli apartheid regime and their ongoing genocide (as well as his reactions to the violent and unconstitutional suppression of anti-genocide protest) says all you need to know about how he uses and chooses not to use his power.

Disclaimer to ward off whataboutism bullshit and accusations of ulterior motives: yes, he IS by far the lesser evil compared to the Mango Mussolini, but that's besides the point and also doesn't make him not an evil.

With Great Power comes Great Responsibility.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

Against the "I don't take responsibility at all."

[–] [email protected] 21 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Everyone who is so sure Biden won't do something... For the first time ever, Biden's life is at stake due to politics. Dude has never needed an abortion. Or food stamps. But he and his family will be dead in 12 months if he doesn't have a contingency plan.

[–] [email protected] -4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

lol right. The secret service, FBI, and every other agency in the country with the express objective of maintaining the status quo are just gonna let a president get killed. This isn't the 60s.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 months ago (1 children)

If Biden's not president in 12 months....?

[–] [email protected] -3 points 3 months ago (3 children)

When he's no longer president, he'll still have secret service agents guarding him with their lives 24/7. He's the safest man on the planet.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yes, the King’s guard will always protect you from the King.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

This is fucking nonsense. You don't need to be at "president orders legal hits on political rivals" level of corrupt for a country's electoral system to be in absolute shambles.

But holy shit do we have a ton of big actual nightmare problems in the US to worry about, and the health and safety of its eldest active war criminal is easily near the bottom of the pile. You know what, I hope you're right. I hope Biden is fucking terrified for his life. Maybe that will scare him into doing the one god damn thing he needs to do to get elected.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

Unless he's summarily arrested

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago

Oh okay bud

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

They have a perverse loyalty to the guy that appointed them and the rest are incapable of independent thought or judgement
