Maybe Iran and Israel were made for each other all along. A whirlwind romance between authoritarian states
Iran and Israel were actually steadfast allies prior to the ayatollahs, and Israel was actually keen on continuing to prop up post revolution Iran for a bit under an assumption that Khomeini was an abberation and that Iran would come back to its senses and resume their friendship "any day now."
Israel and Iran are basically just that divorced couple that can't get over the divorce and make everything into how much they resent each other over the divorce.
The Abrahamic religions are nasty pieces of work.
