For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Wow, imagine Elon whispering policy ideas into Trumps ears and then waving a little clip of bank notes infront of him.

"Make it a crime to track a planes location..."

The thing is, Trump would just take his money and then fuck him over. Elon is simply a mark to con in this situation.

The only context in which Trump is ever deferential - indeed, the only context in which Trump can ever be considered a reliable partner - is if you have some serious dirt on him, and you constantly threaten him with blackmail. Which essentially describes Putin’s relationship with him.

Why con him, they have similar interest? Trump being jealous might be a thing but otherwise they are after the same thing.

Primarily, because Trump is a psychopathic narcissist, and that’s just how is brain works.

I'm not so sure that's a viable reason. Trump could literally kill someone in public and I don't see him going to jail over it. Rape, misappropriation of campaign funds, selling national secrets, Insurrection, etc haven't done anything to him yet.

I think what Putin really has is money and the promise of more money. That's what gets Trump's attention.

Which someone like Musk can dangle in front of him, too. Though Trump also likes having his ego stroked, but he's not going to pay for that.

Musk has an ego big enough to ask to be VP.

Can you imagine what a dumpster fire that would be?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago

Can Musk be VP? Want he born in South Africa to South African parents?

[–] [email protected] -4 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

That's actually brilliant. That would almost automatically guarantee Trump a victory. Trump is already very likely to win based on current polling, but Musk as VP would push that likelihood even higher. No boot-licking Trumpet would change their vote away from cheetolini because of it, and Musk would add other weirdos.

I know what you're thinking: Musk is ineligible to be VP. But that's only until SCOTUS decides that only applies to individuals that a supermajority of congress declares ineligible. Crazy world.

As was said elsewhere, this now makes Donald Trump 'for sale' so anyone can get favors to help him financially.

clearance garage sale territory

I first saw this as "Clarence Thomas", then realized it means the same thing either way.

Both are sell outs to Putin and national security risks.

[–] [email protected] 41 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I imagine that's exactly why they're meeting.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago

Yep. The fix is in.

Donald John Trump

He stopped pretending to run on his own money since he knows how his base doesn't care and will give him their life savings

[–] [email protected] 11 points 6 months ago

I always wonder how much money was/is actually being duped out of ‘his base’.

I think his base is just the washing machine cover story mechanism used for laundering foreign money.

ps— love your username and Sublime

If I was in the room with these two i'd do the world a huge favor.

I'd give them the hugs they never got from their daddies.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 6 months ago

Would said hugs involve both thumbs on their esophagus?

I wonder if Musk told Trump to drop to his knees and beg, and I wonder if Trump did it.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago

I don't believe he has the flexibility to do that
