the actor is doing a great job. him and suki were so good on screen together.

I'm only two episodes in but if they had decided to have Suki travel with them for another episode I would've been a ok with it, she was real good. I realise it's probably because she's older than the core group.

Good to know that live action is good. Honestly though, I will not be watching it. The animated show was too perfect for me to be replaced by anything. But, if you enjoy it, I am glad that you do.

I'm 3 episodes in and so far the writing, acting, pacing, and overall storytelling are very shyamalanish. They hust have big hollywood VFX as a crutch to lean on

The show really drops the fan service after 4 and starts to become it's own

I am glad that you liked the show. More people watching Avatar in any form, the better it is for everyone. My love for Avatar started with the movie, believe it or not. After watching the movie, I just had to know the whole story. It took a while for me to realize that it was an animated show before the movie.

... What movie?

Edit: seriously tho, that's awesome lol

I've only watched the first episode so far and Sokka has been nailing it from his first line. No one else has blown me away yet.

Hard agree. I was also blown away by how perfect the casting on Sokka is. I finished the series today and grew to like Aang, Katara and Zuko a lot more. The casting on Ozai and Iro are excellent too. There's a lot of fan service, but it is done with so much joy and love I can't be mad. Will happily watch the rest of the series if it gets made.

I'm actually more scared of this Ozai, he did really well

Right?! Very hard to move into a role last inhabited my Mark Hamill. Daniel Dae Kim is fantastic.

I’m 5 episodes in

Wait is this your first watch, or a rewatch?

Oh shit. Wait, it's out‽‽

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Yeah, 8 episodes about an hour length each

I didn't like him being such a negative person in the first two or three episodes, but then he got okay.

Shame that they have so much time (since 8hrs is the runtime of what they wanted to cover in the animation) but they add in filler that didn't really make sense, or they change up the characters in a story / the story itself.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

You know Sokka was negative in the original right? He went from "you can't fight the fire nation with fun" to "This is your captain speaking..."

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

I don't think he was as big of a douche about it though? Maybe I remember he was played more for comic relief, and in the serious version of the story felt more mean.

honestly, the statement works for both the original and the new live action.

or, at least, he was the most entertaining part of the original.
