Pirates in real life are scary.
A group of "pirates" that save princess, prevent civil wars, often fight against oppression, never steal from non-pirates, who are fiction.
A group of murderers threatening innocent sailors life, stealing and endangering themselves and others by creating hostile environments, who are very real.
It is all the same.
If you like Thomas the train engine, you have to be in favor of coal mines and deny climate change.
