The angle in "reality" shot is much higher. Try shooting from water level.

MODERATORS
Better to try no filter, actually. Polarizing lenses allow cameras to better "see" through the reflective surface of water, getting images more like that seen on the right (example of photo without the lens and with one). Could also be affected by lighting during the shoot.
