I don't expect Beehaw to refederate anytime soon. As of last month they were still considering moving to another platform: https://beehaw.org/post/9558079

As for infosec.pub, I'll chat with the other admins about inviting them to refederate. My understanding is that they were getting a lot of reports related to our instance and decided to pull the plug on us.

Is BeeHaw any good? I just submitted a registration to check it out. I never got to see it before it was defederated.

I don't really know honestly. My instance is still federated with them, and I don't see much of them. I do see a few users from there, but I rarely see their posts in all. They're mostly just a little isolated community off to the side that does their own thing, which I think is what they want

If you enjoy tame, chill conversations and memes and little else then yes. Good is very subjective. I personally do not like beehaw, it’s a bit bland for me. The community was set up to be(e) a walled garden and it’s about as good as a federated walled garden can be.
