Don't hurt me again, after Tribes Ascend and HiRez studios shitting all over that franchise, I don't know if I could handle another mishandling of one of my favorite games of all time.
FYI
Prophecy Games Inc is a Hirez subsidiary.
Expect all the same shenanigans and monetization hell that comes with that. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's not.
I read that Prophecy spun off as an independent studio. Their write-up about Tribes 3 says you won't have to unlock any weapons, only cost is 19.89 for the base game with more expensive premium editions and micro transaction cosmetics.
At least we won't be grinding for weapon unlocks, or being pressured into buying new weapons for cash.
That would be a welcome surprise.
I only did a quick Google, so fair enough.
Hirez fucking up Tribes. There's something I haven't thought about in a long time.
I just assume all these "revival" projects will be as abject shit as Duke Nukem Forever. That way I'll be pleasantly surprised if they're actually decent.
I paid $30 for early access to Tribes Ascend and then like 2 weeks later they were like "actually it's going to be F2P lol!"
