Ok but serious talk, do people really think countries buy football clubs, spend billions of pounds and stake the reputation of their country on the world stage and DON'T try to buy refs?

It's the same as Shell or BP lobbying MPs with measly sums for favourable legislation.

It's the most cost effective method.
