Ghibli? Sure. A nice feel good animated movie with loveable characters, definitely. It already has the anime feel to it.
Lynch? Idk about that... That's the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I'd rather not feel weird and or confused by a Stardew movie, with a whole bunch of random obscure dark metaphors of farm life and the pitfalls of capitalism presented by heavy cinematography with very little dialogue that went way over budget.
Have you seen The Straight Story, by Lynch? It shows he has the range to make a beautiful, character-driven, slice of life story based off of Stardew Valley, but generally he doesn't go that way.
I dunno, there's some pretty bizarre and dark elements to Stardew that I think Lynch could really bring to life. Surface-level, Ghibli sounds like an excellent choice, but when you dive a bit deeper into Stardew, it does become a little bit Lynchian.
I could actually see it working.
Oh, lynch was the Mulholland drive guy wasn't he? The most I ever enjoyed his work was the parody of it in psych. I dove deep on his Wikipedia once, I feel he's on par with yoko Ono for artistic merit.
