Documenting hate-speech, conspiracy theories, apologia/revisionism, and general tankie behaviour across the fediverse
What is a Tankie?
Alternatively, a detailed blog post about Tankies.
(caution of bias)
Basic Rules:
Sh.itjust.works Instance rules apply! If you are from other instances, please be mindful of the rules. — Basically, don't be a dick.
Hate-Speech — You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.
Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism or any variation of Tankie Ideology. There is no justifying Genocide.
Revisionism — Downplaying or denying atrocities past and present will result in an immediate ban.
If you're violating instance rules, you'll typically be warned. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last seven days, but repeat infractions will have longer sentences. You may ask to be unbanned.
view the rest of the comments
Lol I comment anywhere without checking instances or communities and answered that one. Is this how I find out I'm shadow banned
Not entirely true.
I have another account on another instance, and when viewing the same threads, I will see different comments from each instance.
It's not a shadow banning as much as it is either a limitation of lemmy or an issue with federation and defederation
Oh yeah, true. There some lag between instances because of federation queues and such?
Although all actual bans are also shadow. I don't think there's not any information to the user unless they stumble upon the modlog
probably defederated.
ironic that the developers of lemmy defederate their own instance
I thought if that instance would defed an instance I'm on, I wouldn't even see the posts
They wouldn't be able to see content or comments from your instance, but you could see theirs and comment, which other instances that aren't defederated with you could also see.
I see, thanks for the info
