Whatever happens next, Russia has already lost this war. Strategically, they lost it a year ago, when they failed to take Kyiv and overthrow the "Nazi regime". You can keep moving goalposts all you like, it doesn't change the facts.

And all it cost them was half their armoured vehicles, half their airforce (including strategic bombers LOL), their economy, their principal export partners, their international standing and influence, their internal stability, etc...

I expect before long there will be civil war when republics decide to overthrow their colonial masters.
