devs: 🤭 anime comically evil “huhuhuuuuu!”
Steam has a big problem when it comes to homophobia (and Transphobia) which Valve refuse to moderate, so no I don't agree whatsoever. Developers can and should make their games and communities as unfriendly to homophobic and transphobic people as possible.
Just to add to this, I've read way too many posts on steam about the "globohomo agenda" (a hate term). There's groups on steam that try to target "woke" games and this is usually either some sort of lgbt representation or women characters that make the games woke.
Yeah it's really bad, hateful anti-LGBT and racist rhetoric is a big problem on Steam. It is a big problem everywhere online, but Valve has done considerably less to moderate it than anyone else has.
Just because there isn't any hate in that post doesn't mean that Steamcommunity as a whole is okay. Valve absolutely needs to do better, and I would say that's true for any decent internet forum or platform out there.
I don't think it's okay to call someone out for finding "gay haters everywhere" when it comes to a community that can be as toxic as gamers. This reminds me of all the toxic Steam forum posts about Webfishing not having a straight tag. It's not like you have to invent these people, even if this particular thread doesn't (yet) have them.
Life sometimes involves thinking.
Who pissed in your corn flakes this morning?
I think that they're just a jerk (likely a troll), they reported your comment trying to get you in trouble for calling them out. Ironically they just called attention to their own queerphobic apologia. They have been dealt with now and won't cause anymore trouble.
