Isn't it time to step up to these bullies? Iran, NK, Russia and China.

Human life is more worth than some dictators ego.

Most countries don't actually care. These countries are valuable to them in resources and power, and will keep funding them. Even beacons of "democracy" will fund terrorists and human rights abusers, so long as the oil and power keeps flowing in their pockets, such as France and the RSF, the US and most countries to the Gulf states + Israel, and more.

the US and most countries to the Gulf states + Israel, and more.

I know you said "and more" but that list should probably include ISIS.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Yep, but nowadays, ISIS is a shadow of its former self. (plus, i forgot that they exist. haven't heard of them in years except when the massacre in russia occurred) and besides, saudi arabia has done more to benefit ISIS than the west.

There are more immediate threats in the MENA, such the sudanese civil war, the gulf's human rights abuses/absolute dictatorships, the palestinian genocide, iran, libya/iraq's failed states, egypts police state, the future of syria, turkeys hatred of kurds, so on and so forth...

Boy, we just can't catch a break here.

Sudan and Yemen are powder kegs and they are mostly being ignored, which is quite worrisome.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

It's heartbreaking seeing what goes on in Sudan and Yemen and how it is ignored. Even worse is how the UAE funds the RSF and my own country, SA is committing war crimes in Yemen. But the "civilized west" doesn't give a shit, as long as the oil is flowing.

The US has been funding Saudi war crimes in Yemen for some time, for those who are unaware. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_support_for_Saudi_Arabian%E2%80%93led_operations_in_Yemen

Stand up to them... How exactly?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

Maybe write a strongly worded post on social media or something ?

We can become energy independent, give all the weapons Ukraine needs, go after Russias cyber warfare, and more.

Edit: Angry downvoters lol

When the voters don't want to pay the costs, it's not possible to make change.

[–] prole 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

We don't buy energy from Iran or NK (or China as far as I know).

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

No but from russia, and they support Iran & NK.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fair enough but that stuff only affects Russia. It doesn't affect Iran and it definitely doesn't affect China.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 1 day ago

Yes, China is the hardest part, if we just stop having economic relations with them, then we have way less soft power for example. We should help Taiwan for example.

Russia though, is propping up Iran (or did so) and NK, so affecting russia affects Iran, NK not so much.

But standing strong together is s first step, and sanktion where it can be done too.

[–] [email protected] -5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes now is the time especially wrt Iran and ruzzia. Irans proxies are significantly weakened in Syria and Lebanon. Russia also lost influence in Syria now that the freedom-loving people of Syria have risen up. Russia is also losing in Ukraine.

Either these countries buck up and accept the Rules Based Order or pay the consequences.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What rules-based order? Gestures vaguely at the Middle East. Also you're forgetting that all these countries are bankrolled by China so while they're weakened they still have a strong backer who's not going anywhere anytime soon.
