Posts complaining about "politics" and "propaganda" are invariably made by people who want to see those things, just the kind aligned with their politics.
I think the first time I saw this meme format was around 2002-2004. And I've seen it 10,000 times since then. And if OP is posting this in good faith, this will be the first time.
And BTW, there is no such thing as a space without propaganda or politics. Only spaces where the politics and propaganda are homestyle and cozy.
I really mean it, this is "my kind" of propaganda. I'm just way too over-saturated with this stuff. Like it's nice having a space to talk about that, but when we get to the point where "jokes" are just politics without any punchline i think the "jokes" become a bit pointless
It sounds like it’s time for you to take a break. Not for everyone else to alter their behavior to suit your desires.
Yeah, this is true, but that's why this post is not on c/lemmysucks or something like that, the point of this post is just to see if other people share this opinion with me. This does not bring me rage or anything like that.
We are all fragile human creatures that share a sense of community and shared values, relatability is hardcoded on us, can't i be human too ay?
Don't worry about EleventhHour. They live to argue with anyone over stupid things. They're trolling just to get a rise out of you.
Seemingly, you do not share the same values we do. You want us all to change just to suit your individual caprice. Most people here will find that request preposterous.
You don’t like a post, download it and move on. Lemmy and its communities aren’t going to reshape themselves just for you.
What, no, of course not. i don't want to reshape lemmy, lemmy is great the way it is. Don't be silly
Lemmy is doing so great? Then what is this entire post complaining about?
You talk out of both sides of your mouth.
Why are you angry at me mate? i'm not complaining, i'm just sharing my opinion.
If inventing the fantasy that I’m “angry” helps you deal with reality, fine. But I’ll remind you again that you are the one who posted this silly complaint.
Projecting your negative emotions onto me doesn’t change the reality, however.
I really don't care that about stranger's opinion on the internet, i have no reason to be angry at you, much for the contrary, i do respect your opinion. I will not be continuing this discussion further tho, this discussion is getting way too much like reddit, too silly.
Making unreasonable demand of a large group of strangers tends to make people not like you
It’s a shame you couldn’t learn from this behavior and instead still belief that your arrogant demands should be accepted by strangers.
Eventually, sometime in life, you’re gonna learn that lesson of much harder way — until then, if you don’t like it here, there’s an entire rest of the Internet for you to explore and pollute with your silly complaints.
Like i really do enjoy lemmy, people here are lovely. It's just that people should stop pretending to tell jokes, when they aren't. We can talk talk about issues, we don't need jokes without punchlines to express ourselves, we have discussions and spaces for that
Obviously, you still hold the arrogant and absurd belief that anyone here owes you anything, much less every lemmy user altering their behavior so the entire site suits your taste.
You say you like Lemmy, yet you keep complaining about what you don’t like rather than leaving anyone here is going to change Lemmy just for you.
You say you like it here, but you clearly ignore it. Otherwise, expecting anyone to act differently just for you is outrageously ridiculous.
Why is that so incredibly difficult for you to understand?
I disagree, IMO a lot of it is just low effort trash spammed across multiple communities, multiplying how annoying it is. It's not that I disagree with the idea, I just think "elites bad, updoots to the left" is mind numbingly lazy.
Totally agree. I find Lemmy more of an echo chamber than Reddit. Echo chambers are detrimental, no matter your view.
Honestly, I kinda enjoy seeing the opposite side, the lefty shit
It reminds me just how insane the left can actually get. Like y'all think taking guns is a good idea, that only the police should be armed. It's just stupid.
Ugh, Lemmy.ml is so myopic and thin-skinned honestly.
I've never seen a leftist argue for unilateral disarming. Only liberals.
Leftists often argue for unilateral disarming the minute after they win the revolution because their glorious revolutionary party couldn't possibly betray the working class in any way.
I doubt that'd work out well for them
I don't know about that. I've seen a lot of people claiming to be left wingers wanting to disarm people.
Usually other people.
I'm quite liberal, but holy shit their views on guns are ignorant. "We only want the cops and rich people armed!" The fuck?!
Why do they think the billionaire owned media bangs so hard against AR-15s? Ya know, the most effective antipersonnel rifle in existence? Because they know we can fight back. Remember that nutcase shooter in Maine? And not a word on the weapon used. Because it was an AR-10, and nobody knows what the fuck that is.
If you guys think the cops are bad now, imagine if they had zero fear we could shoot back. People forget, guns are as much, or more, of a deterrence than a weapon. LOL, there was a guy in the woods last week that would have happily beat my ass if I was open carrying. He was about to choke himself trying to be civil and polite.
Gays, blacks and women got the fucking memo, largest gun buying demographic for years. Suburban white boys haven't figured it out yet. But they're happy to post cute guillotine memes all day long.
This is a very American viewpoint. I can kinda' understand why some people think that the solution to there being too many guns is "get more guns", but most of the rest of the developed world thinks it's bizarre.
I also recall reading a study that a gun in the home is more likely to be used on someone who lives in the home than an intruder.
Let's be real. If the police start shooting at a civilian, good luck to the civilian who shoots back. More guns in the hands of the public is probably a big part of why American cops are so jumpy. When any interaction can turn into a shootout, and the police union will have their back no matter what they do...what do you expect to happen?
Note that I'm not defending police (or their unions) in the slightest. What I'm defending is anti-gun rhetoric.
(Yes, there are needs for guns. But American citizens defending themselves from police, spree shooters, and the US military is rarely more than a fantasy)
