I've met lesbians who have penises so you're wrong.

[–] Tb0n3 -2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Lesbian is defined by attraction to women with female parts.you aren't a lesbian if you are attracted to penises. And if you're not but in the relationship anyway it sounds like a shitty way to live.

[–] RatMaster 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Actually the definition is as simple as this: "a woman who is sexually or romantically attracted exclusively to other women; a gay woman."

There is absolutely no mention of genitals in there. Also some people are asexual, but can still be in a relationship. You're just adding boundaries to what a lesbian is that are non-existent.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I'm pretty sure a woman has female parts whatever those parts are.

A woman's feet.
A woman's nose.
A woman's penis.

A lesbian—being attracted to women—could be attracted to any of those parts.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You're both idiots intentionally conflating sex and gender so you can argue with each other.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No I'm not, and you're about three levels behind contemporary gender theory.

"Sex and gender are different!" is some Genderbread Person level understanding that I won't assent to.

How we use them in everyday speech is interchangeable.

Trans women are female.
Trans women have female bodies and female anatomy.
Trans women have female endocrine systems.

I won't let you set up trans women to be othered.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

How we use them in everyday speech is interchangeable.

Except when we need specificity, like in this incredibly stupid argument you're having (with someone else, I'll note, not me; I just chimed in to tell you you're both stupid)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And specifically it's a woman's female penis, being engaged sexually by the woman it's attached to's lesbian lover. What are you not getting?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Why you're even doing this

Surely there are better, less stupid, fights to pick

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

While a marginalized group is being actively genocided?

No, I don't really believe there is.

Let these people—whose sole goal is to hurt trans people—group trans women in with cis men in any category by any name and they will work backwards from whatever that category is and build oppression up around it.

I won't cooperate with that.

If a penis is on a woman that's a female penis.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Congratulations, you've ended bigotry.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You seem to be trying to paint fighting oppression as unhip or futile.
I do not agree.

You be irreverent as you want, I still intend to point out and push back against hurtful and hateful tropes.

Oppression is bad; opposing it is good.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And you're very special and important for doing it. Especially by writing comments online, which is the most important way to fight oppression. I'm glad you're so invested in this.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Can I ask why you're so adversarial with people saying "trans lesbians exist"?

Like you seem to be taking as a personal slight this conversation you weren't even a part of existing.

And what's with this "apathy is cool" attitude of yours that says trying to improve to world is pathetic? It's coming off as very 1992 grunge or 1997 South Park.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Like you seem to be taking as a personal slight this conversation you weren't even a part of existing.

Yeah it bugs me seeing people say obviously dumb things with incredible passion.

Anyway if you don't believe sex and gender are different then you're beyond reasoning with, though not beyond mockery.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

There's nothing dumb about saying trans women are women and some women are lesbians.

What dog do you have in this fight anyway? Did a trans woman steal your girlfriend?
Sorry, Elon.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

See? Whenever you get called out on a ridiculous statement, you retreat to a reasonable statement and then pretend I'm attacking that. It's the same shit I initially called you out for, you can't do that to me. I obviously see right through it. I'm above your paygrade, honey.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't think "trans women are women" is a ridiculous statement at all.

Why do you take such affront to it?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So you are just here to be a transphobe then?

Just checking.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

"I'm confused and my trolling is ineffective, you must be a transphobe!" nice hail mary there.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nah, you're just calling "trans women are women" a ridiculous statement and that's a pretty transphobic thing for you to say.

You should be nicer to your transgender siblings.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nah, you're just

Oh I am, am I?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Are you good buddy?

Why do you hate trans people so much?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Why do YOU hate trans people so much?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They owe me money. Now why do you keep popping in here being an asshole about trans lesbians existing?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I'm fighting on behalf of trans people everywhere, defending them from the literal genocide perpetrated by transphobes like you.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

By denying the validity of trans lesbians' identities? By continually butting in with flippancy and transphobic tropes?

That seems counter-intuitive. I would suggest a different strategy if the veracity of your claim as to your intentions is to be accepted.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Stop changing the subject. Why do you hate trans people? You still haven't given me a real answer.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

There you go again with that sub-par strategy.

I am beginning to doubt the veracity of your claims.

Going to have to ask you to stop being a sealioning transphobe in my mentions. Thanks.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Surely there are better, less stupid, fights to pick

Says the person who only joined the conversation to pick a pointless fight 🙄🙄🙄

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

So you're not involved in the discussion, you just want to out yourself as an asshole?
You do you, I guess!

[–] Tb0n3 -2 points 1 year ago (2 children)
[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

See it is though. I've seen lovely happy couples—both women—where one or both of the women have penises.

They're in successful lesbian relationships without your permission or approval.

They drink gay tea, live gay lives, and gaily care for their gay little cats unaffected one bit by your being wrong about who they are in love with.

[–] thelsim 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

… I have a question about those gay cats. Did they go to a special breeder to get them?
Because for the life of me I can’t figure out how that would work.

Sorry, I don’t mean to make light of your comment. I’m glad to see anyone in a successful relationship, that’s precious enough on its own. Regardless of who you are or what you have.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

… I have a question about those gay cats. Did they go to a special breeder to get them?

I shouldn't have to tell you a breeder is the last place they would go.

[–] thelsim 1 points 1 year ago

Hence my confusion :)
