A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. Avoid politics
    • 3.1) NEW RULE as of 5 Nov 2024, trying it out
    • 3.2) Political posts often end up being circle jerks (not offering unique perspective) or enflaming (too much work for mods).
    • 3.3) Try c/politicaldiscussion, volunteer as a mod here, or start your own community.

I can't really think of a reason for that as Reddit is hated somewhat equally by "both" sides of the spectrum. It's just something I find interesting.

I wouldnt concider their political leaning being leftist, since hard soviet communism/maoism is tyranic and goes all the way around to being fascist since they are masters of banning shit with some being as r3t4rd3d as banning abstract art, so i would say they are right leaning. And concidering myself socialist i feel insulted by grouping tankies with me, so thats why i think the better term for them is tankies.

In practice it is, or maybe those that claim commumism are actually liers and just tyrants, you cant really say the great leap foward in china was a leftist move right? Juat because they say comunism doesnt mean they are not autoritarian and autoritarianism isnt very leftist in my book.
