This guy just walked into the capitol of the United States and criticized the American people for exercising their first amendment right. The audacity.

Hamas whether you like it or not is justified and legal. Hamas wouldn’t exist without the occupation, it is a resistance to it that is protected by international laws. Palestinian society similarly won’t be radicalized to pick up arms and fight if it weren’t for the occupation.

In an ideal world I would only support the PFLP (secular, founded by George Habash) but in an ideal world Israel wouldn’t be able to cut off Gaza’s water, fuel and food either, and the PFLP let alone Hamas would have no reason to exist.

I agree with cause and effect argument. I'm dealing more with present situation as-is. You have (indirectly) confirmed that it's in Hamas' interest to keep conflict alive to exist as an entity. (Note: I did not disregard points on Israel being the oppressor)

This conclusion contradicts reality.

Hamas has called for elections numerous times, elections that have been prevented either by the Palestinian Authority or by Israel. https://apnews.com/article/hamas-middle-east-elections-religion-government-and-politics-e88636bc919f8aab455e01fbbd4b4391

Hamas also accepts a state on 1967 borders, meanwhile Likud always opposed any Palestinian state on any part of historical Palestine. https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2017/may/01/hamas-new-charter-palestine-israel-1967-borders

Hamas has also offered to drop their weapons if a Palestinian state is established. https://apnews.com/article/hamas-khalil-alhayya-qatar-ceasefire-1967-borders-4912532b11a9cec29464eab234045438
