The point isn't who's fault it is. The point is that both of them will be going up against the wall if trump wins. Laying blame won't save either of them.
It's not the time to point fingers, we're in this together, I say as I clean the rest of the neighbors's cat's blood from my pitbull
In this metaphor, The cops are coming to shoot you and your neighbor so they can take your pit bull down to the shelter and let him play with all the cats there.
The pit bull is fine and will remain fine. The pit bull loves the cops and can't wait to be let off the leash for real.
