For example, IVPN server gateways of each protocol in Bulgaria can be nslookup as follows:

However, these IP addresses doesn't work for reverse lookup (reverse lookup for 82.102.23.18 and 82.102.23.21). It may be cause empty of PTR records. But why PTR records aren't set? Are there any benefit for security or privacy or other?

The only things I’ve done differently recently is binding qBittorrent to IVPN and adding steam to split tunnel. I’m using the desktop client on windows 10.

I've developed a Python application which rotates VPN gateways from one or more VPN providers. This will change your outbound IP address, and optionally a VPN provider, on a random basis within a given time period (eg, every 2-4 hours).

So I seem to have this issue that I can't find mentioned elsewhere, where I open IVPN and it tells me I need to renew my subscription, I do, and then I just can't connect to anything.

The only way I've been able to rectify this is by uninstalling and reinstalling the software each time. Now while this isn't really an issue and takes seconds, it's still annoying.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I’m using nextdns over https with the IVPN app. I’m getting a little message in my iOS wifi settings saying that my home network is blocking encrypted dns requests. Is this normal? How can I test to see if my requests are still encrypted?

I just bought IVPN STANDARD for 1 week to test it against the other VPN service I use every day.

My usual VPN is always on for everything I do on my Computer. Now here come the issues I have:

  1. websites do not load or take a long time to load. For example (movie and tv show streaming site) takes around 12 seconds to fully load with IVPN, my other VPN loads it in 2 .3 seconds. I am connected to a server in the same city both times, why the large difference?

  2. some sites do not load at all. (another movie and tv show streaming site) does not load at all using IVPN, but loads in less than 2 seconds.

I use Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1 and Open VPN and had to split tunnel the Video games I want to play since they don't work through the VPN.

Am I using IVPN wrong?

I have a 2019 MacbookPro (Sonoma 14.1 | Intel) split tunneling for most popular VPN services is not an option on macOS or iOS.

The only site/s I need this for are banking websites/services (because...banks 😕). If I could split-tunnel, I'd dedicate one browser simply for the purpose of banking and split that browser.

Since split tunneling isn't an option, I was searching for a way to add specific URLs to an allowlist. I cannot find details on doing such a thing.

I'm a novice at networking, but fairly comfortable with the command line for macOS and Ubuntu (to give you an idea of my technical inclination).

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

Does anyone have any idea why the Linux CLI client prevents Spotify from working when the firewall is on? Spotify works fine, even with iVPN connected, as long as the firewall is turned off. Is Spotify connecting outside the VPN at this point and this is why?

I appreciate it!

I am unable to connect using OpenVPN on Android with IVPN's own app, no matter which UDP port I select. TCP ports sort of work, but the speed loss is over 95%! I am on mobile (T-Mobile). The three blue circles (IP Address, Location, Internet provider) keep spinning, finally I am getting "Connection Error".

A couple years ago, I was having issues with connectivity, and an IVPN rep told me to drop the MTU to 1400, which solved the problem.

However, I have intermittent connectivity problems to certain sites, and I'm pretty sure it's related to going through a VPN. For example, Twitter, Reddit, and openai are both sites that either sometimes wont load, or lag heavily, at particular times. Usually evening, US time. Other times it's fine. About half the time, changing my exit server will help, but it will still be slow. Other times, it doesnt matter what I do.

Other websites work just fine though. I'm not sure if this is an MTU problem, an IVPN problem, a Cloudflare problem (blocking/restricting IVPN), or a combination. But at any rate, u/IVPN , can you tell me whether MTU 1400 is still recommended?

Plenty of IVPN's servers show bad, missing or expired signatures when tested on dnscheck.tools. Examples are:

Brussels Ashburn Miami Los Angeles Paris Belgrade Luxembourg

and more.

Also, there is no IPv6 DNS on any of the servers, but I don't consider that as important. I didn't have this kind of issues with my previous provider.

Criteria and Comparison Tables

Technology:

  • Protocols: Look for support of strong protocols like WireGuard & OpenVPN.
  • Killswitch: Should have highly configurable options (enable/disable on specific networks, on boot, etc.)
  • Multihop Support: Important to keep data private in case a single node is compromised.
  • Open-Source Clients: If the VPN provider has its own software, it should be open-source for better transparency.
  • IPv6 Support: The VPN should support and provide access to IPv6 addresses.
  • Remote Port Forwarding: This aids in creating connections for P2P file sharing or hosting services.
  • Own DNS Servers: VPNs that operate their own DNS servers can offer an additional layer of privacy and security, reducing reliance on third-party DNS providers and ensuring that DNS queries remain within their controlled infrastructure.

Just a suggestion, it will probably be taken the wrong way, but here it is:

OVPN.com

Fully diskless servers, they own their infrastructure, tested in court (The Pirate Bay case), you get not only port forwarding but you can buy your own dedicated IP address, multihop, etc. Same jurisdiction as Mullvad. VERY knowledgeable tech support, which unfortunately consists of only three people.

What is NOT so great:

Half the number of servers compared to IVPN, Android app seems abandoned (you can use WireGuard app, but it is very barebones), IVPN's app is WAY better, 14 eyes country, other OVPN apps are NOT open source yet.

I currently added IVPN to my arsenal, because the Android app is damn nice, but have been with OVPN for a few years now and have no complaints. I used to be with Mullvad, but they failed to handle IPv6 well, when port forwarding was enabled.
