I'm interested in a specific art hobby as a beginner. How long do i sit on this idea researching it before I jump in? The cost is a small to medium concern; I am employed but would like to save. I'm also feeling loneliness, depression and anxiety and a hobby could help right? From my track record I am an impulse buyer. I also fall into deep depression where I don't do anything but sleep (which the hobby is to change).

Pros: Starting a new, fun hobby. Creating art. Possibly making merchandise that is of value.

Cons: Spending money while trying to save. Challenges that come from starting something that is not mandatory.

Worries: I won't act on it at all or I will act on it too soon and waste time and money.

I would really appreciate your kind input and questions to work this out. tysm

I’ve just finished a Diploma for Nursing, which was 18 months long, but the application prior to being accepted into the course took a good few months up of my life- so it’s taken priority for last two years.

For those of you who are not familiar with studying nursing, you undertake many unpaid hours of work experience within the hospital to gain experience.

Now that I’ve finished my degree, I’m in debt, ($2500), my health has suffered (was unable to make daily gym sessions as previous, was unable to afford the diet I had, and also found out I need surgery soon), my apartment is cluttered and filthy (I live alone and have been unable to have energy to continue my cleaning schedule). Everything has fallen apart during this course, but hey- now I have a qualification!

I am on a break for a few months until I decide my next step for my career, and would like some advice on how to proceed.

I’m mentally and physically burnt out, so I am lost on how to recover. I’ve always been a typically goal orientated and disciplined person but now that my routine is over and my goals which I had been working towards for the last few years met, I am floundering.

Does anyone have any advice or have you experienced anything similar? Pleas let me know :)

Long story very short, i have had a thing fir a few girls in the past which obviously didn't work out. I keep clinging on to them (even though the response gets colder) until i get a new interest. After all that, when i make peace with love is not for me, those old lost interests comes back in some form which make me relapse into this never ending whole loop yet again. What should i do? This is affecting my daily life that every free moment i get, i start to think of her (plural).

"Alas, I turn my back. There is a world, elsewhere."

That is a quote from Shakespeare's Coriolanus, in which the main character is not at all being heard out, feels betrayed, and just turns his back on the situation entirely. Vengeance and allying himself with the enemy follows, but that isn't important. I often come back to that one quote.

An entire year for me was hell after a break up. At some point I remembered this quote, and it gave me reason to pursue hobbies, interests in writing, and just the multitude of other things that are available for us that we can't see when we are heartbroken.

An entire world exists other than the depression, sadness, frustration, and all the other negative feelings that are present when someone leaves us or vice versa. Just turn your back on the break up entirely because often there is nothing else that can be done or should be done.

I started writing(Selfish Mind, about how to improve oneself physically, emotionally, and psychologically) now it's been one month and 12 days, Started a hobby of learning Guitar, Working on my coding skills, etc...

I currently work from home and have been financially struggling so I was applying for jobs outside the house. Didn't go so well and I gave up for a bit.

Problem is I'm now on a weird sleep schedule I can't seem to fix. 11am-7pm and up all night. I need to get back to regular hours to continue applying for new jobs but for some reason cant. It's like all my willpower is gone.

I don't know why I'm stuck like this and can't even budge it a few hours a day to slowly go back. I did stay up one day but then slept like 12 hours to literally end up on the same sleep schedule sleeping all day again.

What is wrong with me, I need to apply for new jobs and get going but I'm like paralyzed with zero motivation to even get sleeping at night again.

Really need advice I'm stuck.

College student that has lost all motivation needs help and advice [Text]

Hi everyone, I’m a college student that was doing very very well. I’m at a really good school and have a part time internship. For the first couple months I was so on track to get As in all my classes and they were all hard classes and I was going to the gym and I really loved my busy lifestyle. Then things started to take a turn. I started to watch more YouTube, eat unhealthy foods, and not go to the gym as much. Later I started skipping homework’s and just not trying as hard. Then I stopped showing up to my internship, stopped going to class, and stopped going to office hours as I was getting overwhelmed a bit, but at this point I was still doing the bare minimum. Right before break I started hooking up with my ex again because I live alone and just wanted to be with someone. Now we are back together but I’m just not into her and it’s really stressful because I don’t want to hurt her again. After the break for Thanksgiving I’ve completely lost all motivation. During break all I did was watch reels and YouTube all day and eat junk. Now that’s all I’m still doing, I’m not getting out of bed all day, I’m not even showering. I’m just in my pajamas going from YouTube to eating cookies to watching reels to playing video games to sleeping. I’ve missed projects, homework’s, meetings, I’m screwed. I initially could’ve gotten all A’s now I’m at risk of failing my classes. I’m gonna lose my internship. I’m not in good shape anymore. I feel disgusting and worthless and for some reason I just can’t get started taking steps to get it together even though I want to sooooo bad. It’s currently 1130 and I just got up. I’m gonna miss class again. I’m gonna lose my housing, I want my life again. Any help or advice is very appreciated. I feel like I’m so lucky to have all this opportunity for once and don’t want to throw it all away. I’m the kind of person that when I stop doin something in my routine, everything goes to shit. Please help.

22M trying to sort my life out

I've recently started this thing where I have 9 tasks/categories of task that I need to complete daily. It's helping me bring some structure to my life but there's 1 thing I want to try and do.

I want to form a small group of people who are also trying to self improve in some way, to keep eachother accountable. Something as simple as dropping a number in the chat at the end of the day of how msny of my 9 core tasks I completed today.

Anyone down?

Sometimes, I feel like I took time for granted. During my college days, I often thought about staying back at night to study, but I would consistently postpone it for the next day. As time passed, I noticed that I had been Postponing for weeks and months, leading to struggles during exam times, and laziness became a habit.

I came to the realization that staying in my comfort zone wasn't conducive to achieving anything significant and breaking limitations is essential to make progress.

Now, whenever I sense that I'm falling behind or have important tasks pending, I make an effort to complete them right away instead of delaying them for later or tomorrow. I've come to understand that there is no tomorrow; there is only now and this moment is the only reality.

There are times when I feel lazy about doing my daily meditation and yoga, and the thought of postponing it for tomorrow crosses my mind. In those moments, I remind myself of Sadhguru's quote: "You don't do meditation for a lifetime; just do it today." We often live under the illusion that we have a long time ahead of us, but in reality, we don't know what will happen in the very next moment.

I'm just writing this to maybe get some help, I'm not really motivated into doing anything right now, I've turnet 22 years old recently, so I'm still pretty young, but I litterally have no idea on what to do in life, maily because, besides playing video games, there is nothing that appeals me that much. But nowdays, even in video games I can't really enjoy my self, I used to love them, I've run into getting burned out multiple times during the years and I kinda know how to manage it. But even if so, I find them boring alongside anything else, any advice?I've started to workout a bit, if it's not a rainy day I just go outside to have a walk. But my lack of motivation is also destroying my researches into finding a job, since, the things I've studied are not getting me involved, even when I was in highschool, I've tried different courses but none of them got my attenction too hard. Thanks in advice for your help!

EDIT: Sorry for the bad english, it's my 3rd language >.>
