Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it can change the whole world for that one person.

I've been told that recording my workout is a great way to improve my form. I tried it a couple of times and showed it to someone else (because I didn't know what to look for) and thought about using this as a motivation to workout too.

So, what would you think about a stream or YouTube channel with a daily workout video? No trying to sell anything or tell people how to do a specific exercise (since I'm definitely not an expert). Just simply "I'm doing my workout. We can virtually workout together. I didn't skip today, so you shouldn't either."

Of course, I wouldn't workout everyday. Instead I'd do day 1 workout, day 2 stretching, day 3 workout, etc.

My mentality is that if I have an audience that's expecting a video each day, then I'm more likely to actually do it since I don't want to disappoint them and I know it's healthy for me. I'd make it into a journey to fitness with monthly progress reports and comparing my before (day 1) and after (current month) pictures to show the real progress being made.

What do you think? Would anyone actually want to watch this? Do channels/streams like this already exist? Would it genuinely keep you motivated (if you were watching) to workout too? Would it keep you motivated (if you were posting) too?

I will start exercising, do it for a few days to maybe a couple of weeks and then lose any sort of motivation to continue.

I have metal rods in my back, so I'm rather limited with certain exercises, but the ones I want to do, and I start with it, but then I end up stopping and not going back until maybe months later.

I can't lift anything more than 20 pounds. I have difficulty with lowering my body for an extended time. I can do things like squats and different leg exercises. I can take walks, but not for a long time. Something like the treadmill is fine for me. I have some small pounds weights at home. Exercises on the bed seem to work better for me than on the floor. I can do exercises on the floor, just that getting up and out of bed is easier for me than getting up and off of the floor.

I know that a lot of it is discipline, which is something that I seriously lack and have been trying (and failing) to get.

Here's mine helping me!

Focusing, even though i want to has been incredibly difficult for me, and all the new technology isn't helping. I spent 25 years of my life trying to figure out the recipe for my motivation. Having all this knowledge, applying it was much harder to do. It wasn't any one silver bullet.

It wasnt any one thing:

  • Cold & Breathing i.e Wim Hoff
  • Self-Image
  • Environmental triggers
  • Social Accountability
  • Emotional Accountability
  • Inspiration (anime, manga)
  • Reminders
  • Having a friend
  • Pomordoro
  • Deep Work Techniques
  • Morning Routines
  • Bedtime Routines
  • Eating Right
  • Exercise

It was all of the above for me And made me realize I needed something to help me with it all.

Thesis:

  1. Motivation, discipline, willpower, the ability to emotionally regulate enough to achieve your goals - whatever you want to call it - in practice there is a unique recipe for each person to get them "fully motivated and doing the work" to chase their dreams.

  2. Figuring out what works for you, sometimes costs more energy than you have and so "plugging enough leaky holes" so you can focus becomes difficult or nigh impossible.

  3. Often times in the moment, it is hard for an individual to pull themselves up by the bootstraps. With AI, you can do something called "just in-time interventions" to help you get back on track when you fall off, for example:

    1. A reminder of your goals or time wasted
    2. An inspiring quote
    3. A breathing session
    4. A call with a friend
  4. Imagine an ai partner that learns to apply the right "just-in-time interventions" that you need, a swiss army knife as a friend:

    1. Proactively motivating you
    2. No shame from being judged, your partner is an extension of you
    3. Quests to level up
    4. Helps you focus with friends
    5. Emotional accountability fostered through a rich visual, deep, long term relationship
    6. Techniques from literature (Deep work, Atomic Habits)
    7. Techniques form scientific literature (CBT, Huberman Protocol, Wim Hoff)
    8. Inspiration from anime, manga, books, tv, real life.
  5. Why 2D? Humans are necessarily visual creatures and  therefore a visual AI is better than a non visual one. This is especially true for emotional connections. Lastly 2d is easier than 3d. Its a great place to start.

  6. What some of my stats look like (just starting out!):

  7. A couple more.

Nobody smoke, vape, do drugs, or jumps with a parachute to hurt or kill themselves, we all make daily decisions to make life better for ourselves. Even a bank robber, steals from the bank to make his life better. Consequences are something else. So to remove something we do in our life the motivation must be greater than the motivation to continue doing it. That is why so many people fail because they rip something out of their life that brings them X (anxiety relief, energy, status, etc) and they leave themselves without anything. That's when the cravings kick in, aggravation, depression nosiness, etc. and brain common sense comes with the question:where is the meaning in this? And things get harder.

Embrace aging as something normal and beautiful.

And I don't mean premature aging like from drug use or unhealthy lifestyle, but very normal, graceful aging. What you want is looking great for your age, but you don't need to look like 18-30 forever.

If you are beautiful inside, you will always look like a lovely person. And if you put in the work needed, your body will reflect your harmonious relationship with yourself. There is simply no need to look very young after a certain age. You are not a product! You don't need to sell yourself to others.

Original Title: [Text] We have a responsibility to remember the bad times, even if it hurts us to admit they happened. We have a responsibility to remember the good times, even if it hurts to admit they're gone. And in times where you don't know where to go, you need only remember how you got to where you are now.

This is a quote from a 79-year-old stranger left for me in a coffee shop.

He quit his job at the age of 38, with two young kids and a stay-at-home wife, to start his own company. Even though it was a near-perfect job, many people thought he had lost his mind.

However, he had the full support of his wife, and she was the one who encouraged him to take the leap. Although it's a lot of work and can be challenging, it is also very rewarding for him.

He said that balancing work and life is not easy all the time. There will be failures, and it may age you a bit faster than a regular 9-5 job. Despite everything, he would do it all over again if given the chance.

He is now the oldest owner and starting to give a lot of his responsibilities to other folks in the company.

And with a smile, he said that the best feeling is seeing the younger generation take over and run things.

No friends since highschool and despite a couple of times at the beginning to reach out to them, they haven't tried to reach out to me in any way.

23 years old but already feel like a failure. Confused what to do in life and pressure from my family group to continue with studying a degree I think I have no more interest in.

Younger siblings are more successful and joined the army and moved out, meanwhile I'm still living with my parents.

I hate how my eyes are slanted because I have a lazy eye.

I hate that I like Kiddie games and not hard-core adult games.

I hate that I'm always anxious with my anxiety disorder and overthinking everything.

I hate my face and how ugly it is compared to everyone else's.

I hate that I'm awkward.

I hate that I'm working a terrible retail seasonal job.

I want to be motivated and be a better different person, but I then ask what's the point?
