Please, point out to me, in the methodology of the poll, which is provided at the bottom of the page, where is it stated that 46/49 numbers are some arbitrary chances of winning the election?

My reading is that they're averages of other polls that are polling popular vote, e.g. simply asking "which candidate would you vote for if the elections were tomorrow?".

But, please, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Look, you can't even make a simple logical conjecture. Each of your messages has shown an utter inability of using simple first-order logic. And yet you claim to have a graduate degree in a math-related subject? Tell me more about the smell of what's coming out.

Meh. That exists everywhere.

If you got a college degree you can move to a lot of places in the US which have a higher HDI and a living standard than almost anything in Europe. And you don't even need to learn a new language.

Cry all you want about healthcare, but as a white-collar worker you'll have a corporate insurance plan and it will be lit. Try some European public healthcare afterwards, that will be a harsh downgrade, I promise.

You do have a biiig problem is if you're uneducated and working at McDonald's or an Amazon warehouse. Cuz then you're fucked. Like for life. And don't you dare go unemployed, homeless, or get sick. Cuz, life, apparently can be worse than being an amazon slave, and apparently you won't ever "recover" (to your previous slave state) from falling that low.

And, ofc, it's fun to live in a society like that.

But you definitely don't need to personally struggle on a daily basis. Unless by choice.

I am sure I am the only one so far who used a "3-sigma-improbable".

Everyone else kept talking about electoral college, which means nothing in the context of a popular vote poll.

To me it seems like you choose to ignore facts.

Compared to you, I do understand a lot about polls, population samples, sampling methodologies, importance weighting, confidence intervals, and other related stuff. On a level way above high school.

And I think it's interesting that you likely talk in the same tone to all your political opponents while insinuating its their lack of education that is the problem. And, it does correlate. Your political opponents on average are less educated than your political supporters. And so, you using that when clearly misrepresenting the facts surely makes them feel like listening to your arguments and carefully considering them. After all, they come from someone better educated than them, yeah?

You need to either find a way to start changing things, or move to a different country, or accept that there's nothing you can do, vote dem every 4 years while staying away from political content.

You can't just be angry every day in a group of people 100% sharing your views. This gets you and the country nowhere.

If you don't agree that banning

Yes, yes, once you come to power and become a benevolent dictator, you will purge like half of your countrymen in the name of the greater good and kindness.

Explain these numbers to me please: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/us/elections/polls-president.html

Because, what I see, is that, ignoring your stupid broken democracy, we still got like a 46/49 split (5% undecided?)

So, are you delusional, or are you delusional?

What do you do in a democracy where say, for the sake of the argument, exactly 50% of your population is racist?

As in, 50% of your population believes skin color does not matter, the other 50% believe if you're darker than a certain shade, your brain is that of a baboon, and as an unsuitable human being you should be kept outside of the country borders.

What do you do?

Now, you're in the same situation, but the split is 60/40. Will you use your majority power to exterminate the other 40?

So far all you do is gather on some corner of the internet and cry in each others shoulder. Every fuckin day. On every fuckin sub.

This platform was created as some "Fediverse". Something big and all-encompassing. Flying above individual organizations, nations, languages, etc. But all it is atm is an emotional support corner for the non-racist americans.

Yes, I'm familiar with that part of your legislation.

Approximately everyone else here except for you sees AfD as a target for banning because "they're radical far right". No, sorry, bad idea.

Even banning an anti-democracy party at first might be a bad idea. Better go figure out why is anyone voting for them.

Banning an anti-democracy party is an absolute last-resort measure. It only exists in Germany because this is how Hitler came to power, so the idea is to prevent that scenario from repeating. I can see the point, however it is yet to be proven that such bans would actually help preserve the democratic order.

Oh yeah, that last implication certainly is full of polite implying. I'm honored.

You know what I see? Someone who's afraid that their world order will change. And their solution is "lock them up while we're in the majority".

You know what I also see? A failed German re-unification, extreme arrogance of the west Germans towards east Germans, a bouquet of additional socio-economical problems that have been ignored for decades. And a consequent voters' revolt.

And their solution? Tell all those angry people that they're nazi and their problems will continue being ignored. I'm sure that will solve it.

The party in question, AfD, is fuckin scary. They, in fact, are openly nazi. And, yet, I promise you, banning them and continuing to ignore the underlying issues will only make things worse.

You do nothing else but kick back and watch some political comedy. And it doesn't look like fun anymore. At this point lemmy is an emotional support club.

Other than that, I feel you. After I've learned that trump got 48% or so of the popular vote (which also somehow won him the election), I've forever dropped my plans to move to your beautiful country. Even if career-wise it's a no-brainer. Tbh, even 40% of the popular vote to that political figure would've been too much for my liking.

posted this vid into this community. Let's see what happens. But, FYI, the video runs exactly like the one posted here.

I, unfortunately, even think the jokes are pretty funny.

I understand in both cases it's quotes takes out of context.

It used to be that simple: r/plexshares, click any link, join the server, watch all you want.

Well, they really cracked down on that. Plex purged the servers en masse, my server switched to some obscure emby, r/plexshares is closed for good.

I'm in a need of a new server. Where do I even go? What platform is best to sail the seas now? Jellyfin?

P.S. my torrent days are over, thanks. I'm not interested in self-hosting anything either, again, thanks. 10$/month is a reasonable subscription fee for an all-you-can-eat streaming service

I understand that the battery degrades over time.

However, without any apparent reason I found my scooter does not charge above 51.6V while a full charge used to be 55.9V. (I own a Zero 9).

It hasn't been used for two weeks before this happened, but I left it roughly half-charged, which should be ideal for a long-term idle time.

Any clues on what's going on?
