As a Reddit refugee, I was a bit surprised there was no community here for e-scooters. So, I decided to create one. If you have ideas for moderation style, rules, sidebar content, or anything else, let me know!

Permanent Voltage Drop (self.electric_scooters)
submitted 10 months ago by where_am_i to c/[email protected]

I understand that the battery degrades over time.

However, without any apparent reason I found my scooter does not charge above 51.6V while a full charge used to be 55.9V. (I own a Zero 9).

It hasn't been used for two weeks before this happened, but I left it roughly half-charged, which should be ideal for a long-term idle time.

Any clues on what's going on?

I'm looking for an escooter small and light enough for my daughter to take onto a bus and then ride a km or two through a college campus?

But I'm having trouble finding a suitable model. Whenever I go to a dealer, they always want to sell me something rather huge and heavy. She's not that big. Maybe 5'3 with a slender build? When I suggest perhaps their child model would be more suitable, they say they wouldn't be up to the task for one reason or another.

Any suggestions on what to look for?

Thanks to everyone who has given me feedback about our crossposting bot! Reviews have been mixed, as expected. I'm turning off the crossposting bot for now, or perhaps permanently. We'll see how things progress over the next few weeks!

Happy posting and scootering!

Hey guys, i have a ninebot es4 pro with extra battery. I used It everyday for going to work. One day i go to work at 30 km/h and its all ok, then i return home and the scooter wont go more than 27km/h. I tryed rebooting, i tryed reflashing. Yes i have sport mode on, yes i have 100% battery. I controlled battery level and reinstalled the external One but the situation Is the same. I'm posting a video of It and also a photo of the front wheel. If Someone can help me with anything ill be grateful. Thanks

Like the title says, I bought this scooter today and took it for a ride. After about 10mins the front end started to feel like it was floating a bit and now I can hear the disc brake making contact with the pads each revolution. The wheels are tight, I checked all that so I’m just curious if anyone has encountered this issue. Would a steering damper help with the floaty feeling and the wobble at higher speeds?

The great Ragnar Lothbrok famously said “a place doesn’t exist until you sail there.”

Well I suppose then we should update:

“A place doesn’t exist…until you scooter there…”

Best Buy has a 15% restocking fee for an e-scooter that's been unboxed, see comment. If it's defective you can return (no fee) or exchange (no fee). If you cancel the preorder in advance there is no fee. Do with this info what you will!

Wiped out on two different occasions with rear motor needing replacement both times. This last motor took 7 months to be back in stock! Glad to finally have her back on the road 🤘🏻😤🤘🏻

Previously I posted on here about an issue with my Varla Pegasus rear rotor. Ordered a new rotor, replaced it, good as new. Took it out for a ride, and the front tire started making a rattling noise.

Realized it was the metal piece that holds the brake in place, looked like the screws were loose. Took it home, removed the front wheel, went to tighten the screws, and the head of one of the screws fell out.

The screw broke and the rest of it is lodged inside the metal. I have no idea what to do at this point. And advice would be much appreciated. I just want to ride my scooter. 🥲

I was set on the Osprey from Yume, but something told me to look at the available choices again. I went to Minimotors and saw a big sale on this monster... (Maybe a psychological ploy, but it worked). The rest was history.

I was a bit hesitant on the Osprey because the weight limit went down even though it's still just the M11, but the FS says plain as day 330 lbs. And I'm 6'5" 300 lbs so that was one box checked.

Anyhow, shakedown cruise complete. This is my first scooter, I have a Begode RS that I never really mastered cause I'm old and apparently more clumsy than I thought. I will say the torque the FS can deliver at 20mph when you put it on level 3, 4 or 5 is surprising. Really surprising. Luckily I watched plenty of videos and was on the kickplate, cause flat footed I think I would have been thrown.

Anyhow, fun to be in the club. Cheers all.

Took the scoot on vacation with me. Was super fun exploring around the beach (obviously not in sand lol). The phantom has been super reliable for me. Have even taken it on multiple 18-20 mile rides through the suburbs and it handled it well. I upgraded to the v3 kit after ~300 miles and it has been even better since then. Regenerative breaking is a dream and the throttle is incredibly smooth. No flats however I did overheat one time. Even handled a nasty crash that was entirely my fault (overly confidence because the road was off blocked to cars) with only scratching.

Was riding down a bumpy sidewalk and heard a tinging sound but didn’t think anything of it. It rode fine after but when I got home I picked it up to put it on the stand and the back wheel assembly was loose and the spring slid off. I’ve been off roading and jumping it quite a bit and it also has over 1,000 miles. New shock is coming soon under warranty

I got the new unagi voyager. Every time when I unlock the top speed 20mph. When I put it to charge of don’t use it for a couple of hours the speed revert back to the 15mph speed limit.

This scooter is looking like a peice of junk. It wobbles at its top speed, the kick stand tip fell off on its own so I glued it back, the rage is garbage I got 20 miles traveling at 10mph, the suspension makes a knocking noise, the lights are there but they aren't very bright at all, the BAB or bitch-ass-bell is not only a joke for the money spent on the scooter but its held on by friction so it's no longer attached, no turn signals and the flashing brake light is hardly noticeable. Now in the pictures is the worst part of this scooter next to the short range. The belly of the scooter has a spine...lol at least it has something lol But it gets in the way of setting it on a stool or chair or bench or what works perfectly fine on ALL of my other scooter cheap or not. I have to fix a flat and I'll have to sit on the floor next to it or lay it across my couch after I start the screws first.

Top tier tyre manufacturers entering the escooter space is going to help the uncomplex, durability focused models along immensely with increased handling and ride benefits. Egret One features an 11" tyre developed by Pirelli. Suspension is an uneccessary complexity and weight on a tarmac commuter scooter.

Pre-Ordered Apollo phantom in early may, was taking forever to ship. Cancelled the order because I saw the GT2 was going for $3299. So I ordered it. Contacted Segway on Tuesday because they were having a flash sale, the GT2 was now $2999. They refunded me the difference so I could get the new discounted price. Within 4 days I got the scooter. Came in today. This thing is a beast! Happy with my purchase and the customer service.
