Canada has had conscription. Just not since WW2.

Canada is building its own starlink like service.

The first production satellites will start launching in 2026. It sucks that remote communities will have to wait a few more years, but it’s better than buying from a hostile foreign power that we’re at war with.

Doesn’t France have a sort of PR in how the multiple rounds work? In any case the system still sends way better than FPTP. Canada has had majorities backed by only 40% of the vote, which is pretty insane.

If you’re buying a Chinese product then yes of course.

Exactly. I “don’t buy American” rather than “buy Canadian” for the most part. No need to punish our other trading partners. We need to support them too.

Sure, but it would still be a coalition and the afd would still be held in check to a large degree. With FPTP one majority will end your democracy if an afd like party gets in.

Any links to back that up? Seems suspect.

There is nothing at all wrong with people wanting someone who wants to actually destroy Canada to no longer have citizenship. It seems very reasonable to me that wanting to destroy a country should cause you to lose citizenship for that country. It’s not a high bar.

Laws change. And how you ask? It starts exactly this way. Go do something constructive instead of trying to be the speech police bud.

Public communication? I’m sure they issue public statements at times.

People trying to “both sides same” when Musk is calling our sovereignty fake and aiding a country that has literally threatened us with war to annex us, needs to give their head a shake.

I don’t understand. We already have a free trade agreement with Europe that has been coming online over the last several years. Why do you think we won’t expand it?

I sadly read the whole thing and all this is an influencer suing this guy over a bunch of twitter comments. You’re right, this has nothing to do with “Canada” doing anything.

"Meanwhile, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has made it clear, both in the House and in writing to LeBlanc that his "demands" are for Trudeau to agree to call an independent inquiry under the Inquiries Act, and then his party would provide a shortlist of names to lead it as well as a proposed mandate and terms of reference."

I wouldn't trust any inquiry led by someone Poilievre gets to choose. He refuses to obtain government clearance, what is he hiding?

Yay! Congrats Toronto!
