If it’s just for game storage, I would just look for a good price on something from a reputable brand (WD, Kingston, Samsung, TeamGroup, even Sandisk or PNY). The OS will be installed on the nvme drive, and loading times for games won’t be terribly impacted by the different speeds offered by SATA drives as there are other limitations in the loading process. After a quick google search, something like this would work great. The only thing you want to avoid are brands with very little info/reviews or drives with a price that is too good to be true (looking at you, $15 drives on Temu).

Pedal Steel. First time I saw one played live was at a Bright Eyes show when I was in high school. I know they’ve been around for a long time and are prominent in country music, but watching and hearing it played in person just blew me away. I feel like the instrument conveys so much emotion in its sound

And concerning Spotify: I read they pay an artist at most a third of a cent per streamed song. I think they’re ripping off the artists.

While Spotify doesn’t make artists much money at all, I think the focus should really be on the record labels. Labels are dinosaurs and really have no business being so prolific in today’s music industry. If I had to choose between waging war on Spotify or labels, I’d be coming for the labels first.

Yeah, they’re fantastic for, uh, “vases”

I see that your wife and my wife have the same remote on their wishlists

Newegg mostly sucks due to their shitty return policy. All too often people get faulty parts and Newegg either refuses to accept the return or charges a 20% restocking fee for a product that never worked. Places like Amazon or B&H often have similar prices for less hassle. That being said, I’ve ordered plenty of stuff on Newegg and not had an issue.

For storage, you’ll only fit one of the nvme drives in this motherboard. I’d recommend a SATA 3 SSD if you want more space for things like game installs. If you want storage for media like photos, movies, etc., traditional spinning drives can’t be beat for $/gb.

Everything else looks pretty good. If you can swing an extra $200, the Ryzen 5800x3d is pretty much the best gaming CPU on the AM4 platform. If you can’t, I honestly wouldn’t sweat it. The build from pcmasterrace will be an awesome gaming rig just as it is.

Pretty sure they only hate Jewish immigrants. There seems to be a lot of crossover between American anti-semites and people who want Israel to carpet bomb Gaza

This is very true. Maybe he wants to recreate some of his ideas with PT without infringing on copyright or trademark. I know he’s made cryptic references to PT before, this might be his way of bringing to life his vision while avoiding legal trouble

It’s gonna be some form of horror game. I’ve heard speculation that Kojima regained the rights to P.T. (The door you see in her eyes at the end of the trailer looks like the same door as in P.T.) so it may be somehow related to that

Never in my life have I watched a trailer with so little information that got me so hyped

I haven’t played many of the indie games on the list, but I’m glad to see Sea of Stars get some love. It’s probably the best game I’ve played in the last year

This was exactly what I was thinking. I remember trying to run it on my GTX 970 and it definitely struggled in places. Expecting this to be 30fps max with low graphics on the Switch.

Provocative title, yeah?

There has been a lot of discussion about what different instances should strive to be. I see a lot of posts and comments wanting instances to become subreddits, e.g. a gaming instance, a politics instance, etc. That kind of thinking is too restrictive for my taste.

To be clear, I am not a tankie, nor do I support tankie ideology. I DO believe, however, that the concept of Lemmygrad is what I would like to see the fediverse become.

Lemmygrad is an unapologetically tankie instance. For fuck’s sake, its name is a play on Leningrad. However, the instance is not restricted to discussions of communist ideology. Lemmygrad contains communities about gaming, food, shitposting, and everything else you might associate with a link aggregator. This is what they get right.

In my ideal virtual future, or “vuture”, the fediverse would be comprised of instances each geared toward a specific topical focus, with a wide variety of community posts and discussion. The majority of my IRL friends and I initially bonded over technology and gaming, but we like to discuss a wide variety of topics when we get together. Why should the fediverse be any different? I imagine instances that are gaming focused where m/politics is filled with Bioshock-themed shitposts and discussions about laws that influence the way we handle technology. Sports-focused instances share pictures in m/food of what they are making for Super Bowl Sunday. If I’m a gamer that is also really into militant communist politics, I might sign up for a gaming instance but subscribe to c/politics on Lemmygrad as well.

We don’t need subreddits in the traditional sense. Let’s turn instances into our little neighborhoods, our cul de sacs, and make the fediverse our town hall meetings, our sports arenas and our bars.
