MASH is still great, I started from the beginning recently and have been enjoying it immensely, another recommendation here. Goodnight Major

You can use them for any of the big lifts they have essentially no weight limit. You just release your grip and they come loose. Lifting straps or versa grips basically the same mechanism. It feels like the weight is in your palm instead of your fingers

The split is a carryover from the way Reddit was organized, with the fitness sub being very generalized and larger, and the weightroom sub a lot more structured and focussed on strength and hypertrophy. The structure goes hand in hand with methodical strength training, personally I found the regular training logs to be helpful for accountability. Over the last year or so on Lemmy a few other people had mentioned the same, so I thought I would try my hand at providing that structure here on the fediverse

Maybe try using lifting straps?

I'm not sure about the new one but his powerbuilding program has an optional extra day for arms

I would love to be able to knit sweaters

I thought some folks here in [email protected] might also be interested in a more strength and hypertrophy training oriented community, with a focus on weekly training logs, program discussions, questions and lifting techniques.

After humming and hawing about it ever since the Reddit API migration, I decided that if I wanted to see it on Lemmy I really should make it so.

One of the things that I missed the most from Reddit was the strength training subs, as they were great motivation to stay consistent, and the occasional program parties were a lot of fun. A bunch of folks trying to get through super squats and drinking a gallon of whole milk per day made for some pretty interesting workout reports.

I have not traditionally been a community builder in the past, but I believe there is big a gap in the Fediverse where strength and hypertrophy training should be.

This is a pretty comprehensive video about squatting put out by Calgary Barbell, some good stuff here

Its just getting off the ground so too early to say how its going. But I have picked up a lot of valuable info from this sub and the others on the sidebar, thanks for that
