what couple with kids can afford a garage?

Maybe it's just my circle, but I haven't seen this kind of behaviour or talk outside of TV shows from the 1980s and Facebook posts from the elderly. Is it still a thing?

One explanation for the decline is Tesla's failure to launch a new mainstream model since the Model Y in 2021. Meanwhile, its European and Chinese rivals have brought out a range of more affordable products, better adapted to local preferences.

France has also decreased subsidies for EV purchases, making Tesla's premium models far less affordable.

On Lemmy, on the other hand, I can make a relatively uncontroversial statement like, "Steam provides useful tools." and be called a fanboy shill who supports fascists.

I feel the same way: either everyone agrees with a statement, or there's downvotes and snark. Lemmites are here because we have strong beliefs, so that isn't surprising. But it makes me less willing to post/comment.

I'm in the same boat. I enjoyed the short story more, but mostly because it didn't feel as over the top. The wacky alien mechanic works better in print IMO.

Yeah. Despite the noise on Reddit, I suspect most of his base see what he and Musk are up to as a win.

The boomerang is awesome. The DPS doesn't feel great, but the homing is hilarious. I got lucky and managed to kill a duo with a single throw.

I'm gonna be so sad when they vault this thing.

Economists are increasingly of the belief that Trudeau’s government is working at cross purposes to the central bank. Nearly 70 per cent of respondents to a Bloomberg survey say generous federal spending programs and higher immigration targets have led interest rates steeper than they would have otherwise needed to go.

Instead of targeted policy to limit reduce inflation, the federal and provincial governments have left the Bank of Canada to deal with it.

What do you think makes a good battlemap?

There isn't a one size fits all set of rules, but I like:

  • multiple exits and entrances. If the party needs to flee, or there are reinforcements, then they're should be a few ways on and off the battlefield
  • cover. A scattering of solid items to use as full or partial cover makes it easier for characters to move.
  • multiple paths allow units to circle behind enemies.

What do you look for in maps?

Okay, so we are having a public enquiry now?

From the article, it sounds like there were a number of allegations that Johnston didn't investigate, so that makes sense.

Getting the opposition parties to agree on the head of the enquiry before it starts seems like a good idea.

This is one of those tips that sounds cheap, but I've really enjoyed it.

Instead of lemonade, put a drop of lemon (or lemon concentrate) in water. It's most of the taste, but you aren't drinking a tonne of sugar. I use this to add a bit of flavour to my water in WFH.

Edit: fixed typo. Thanks Jeff.

I'm surprised we've seen basically nothing from provincial or federal governments to improve housing/rental affordability. With riding interest rates, I was expecting at least a slump, but that hasn't happened. Instead, we've seen amortizations grow rapidly.

The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions has recommended

Removing the ability to extend amortization periods could exert downward pressure on some house prices, as it reduces the options available to help some borrowers meet their financial obligation

But (AFAIU) Parliament has ignored the recommendation. It's a really shitty situation, that I don't see a way out of.
