I'm saying you're a moderate based on your previous comment. Bernie isn't "far left," you are living in an alternate reality. He basically advocates for common-sense tax and spend policies and tries to be pro-worker when he can.

People like Harris and Biden are centrists, that's why you can stomach voting for him. He's made his whole career on that. Bernie is center-left, he's a social democrat but the right-wing talks about him like he's about to take away your toothbrushes.

The most efficient way is to force cold air into the space while also forcing hot air out. Going to an event focusing on something you already like means that you will enjoy it even if you don't meet anyone interesting and you will also have at least one thing in common with everyone there.

Also, you don't have to talk to someone on an app all the time. Move off of the app (text, calling, in-person, etc.) and set a certain window of time for socializing. I get that you might feel pressure to talk constantly, but just be honest - something like, "hey, I like talking to you but I have other things to get done now; we can chat more later" works fine as long as they're emotionally mature.

All these stupid idiots need to realize we don't have free speech in Canada. We also have comprehensive hate crime/speech laws, though they're exceptionally underused due to circumstances exactly like this. Fuck conservatism.
