tankies and the leftists without the ability to have critical thought AND/OR nuanced conversation.

I’m sure some of them are nice people, but they aren’t sending their best.

Generally incompetent leaders who promoted people to positions of power based on their loyalty rather than merit also.

Just the whole general way they did everything, I’d say.

Real talk though, a wine and cheese date is amazing especially if you get wild with moldy cheeses and you both end up laughing at each others “weird cheese faces”

Make them laugh, easy day.

The bulk of it actually goes to paying for social programs, Medicare and Medicaid, welfare and student loans (though … student loans are bullshit as a concept) and education.

Unless you count the unpaid taxes of the wealthy as a direct expenditure of our budget, then yes in a roundabout way it’s subsidizing the wealthy first then social programs in America THEN bombing brown people in other parts of the world.

We just spare no expense on the last bit, unfortunately.

I believe Rule 1 is the “Lemmy.ml” rule 1

Which is “be civil”(?) or something so generically applied it’s basically “don’t disagree with instance admins stance on the world, this is their echo chamber”

I’m 90% sure it first said “Obama ~~ leftist” before being edited to liberal, which was what I’m commenting on.

The “liberal” in the USA is not a leftist in the same way a Tankie isn’t.

The first group actually doesn’t really exist AND the group that gets assigned to that category tends to agree that extrajudicial air strikes are bad.

If the first group actually existed in the way they get categorized and imagined they’d be equally as bad, if not worse for being that dumb in a society where they are “allowed” to know better and think differently, vocally.

If the cruelty wasn’t the point then effort would be made to alleviate it, the universe might not feel but people are capable of it.

That’s the entire part of the concept of “what makes us human”

Our lizard brain can be beat by our monkey brain, we just gotta use our monkey brain bits.

Yes. That’s how sanctions work.

Part of the intention is to pressure citizens of the country for violating international law so they exert pressure on their governments to stop.

Another part is to remove the use of tooling to support the sanctioned nation.

Russia could stop the war and problem is solved. This isn’t Microsoft being the bad guy, this is Microsoft following international law.
