Modify them to read ‘Trump: 1946 - 2028’.

-gate is the suffix for scandals.

-a-Lago is the suffix for stupid scandals.

This scandal should be labelled as Sig-na-Lago.

They need everyone to be sick, stupid, and scared.

A healthy and broadly educated population which feels safe and secure is incompatible with, and toxic to, conservative and authoritarian ideologies.

I cut my teeth with DOS and Netware, used Windows until the day 98 was released (had been using the GM for a month), and cut over to Slackware as my daily driver. Dabbled with Redhat before stabilising on Debian, which I’ve never found a need to change from for my headless boxes.

One thing I specifically remember was hand tuning my X11 config to drive my 15” Trinitron at 1024x768 @ ~68Hz.

Advertising needs to become as socially acceptable as smoking.

It arbitrary pollutes any environment it’s conducted in, and causes secondary harms to non-participants by incentivising insecure hoarding of private information with the intent to better target individuals.

It’s almost like granting a supreme veto to a single, wholly imaginary ideology, and positioning it as a monoculture for how society values activities and production, is problematic.

We apparently did away with it once before through the separation of church and state, maybe it’s time to force the separation of bank and state.

On 2001-09-12, Al Qaeda and bin Laden became superfluous, because the US and its ‘allies’ stole their playbook, rebranded and packaged it as the Patriot Act, creating the world the original authors had envisioned.

On 2024-11-05, of the eligible voting population in the US, roughly:

  • ⅓ voted for Trump.
  • ⅓ voted for someone other than Trump.
  • ⅓ didn’t vote.

As far as I’m concerned, if you’re eligible to vote and choose not to, you’re implicitly throwing your support behind whoever wins.

⅔ of the eligible US voting population to some degree support, and are responsible for, everything that is happening in their federal government now.

The rest of the world interpreted it as the US saying it doesn’t wish to be taken seriously for at least the next 2 years. We can resume discussion when they decide to choose adults to represent them again.
