News orgs setting up shop with their own fediverse instances that they run and control (like the swiss govt just did with mastodon) seems like a natural situation.

I initially misread as "lecher" and was very confused.

I've always felt it doesn't solve the problem people think it's solving.

First thing that comes to mind is consequences (not serious ones... More like "yes and" fun outcomes) - if he's off digging up magic bugs or trying to find sticks in a castle, hey, that's a raised eyebrow and a storytelling opportunity. Wants to dig up rocks? He's gotta put it somewhere. Bag full of rocks? Someone's gonna notice.

The term for what you're looking for is "organizing," which is much harder and involved than "activism" (as defined when contasted to each other). It's also much more durable, and packs a hell of a punch.

I walked away from an Occupy rally once when all I could get from anyone, as to what the plan of action was, "TAKE IT TO THE STREETS."

Exhausting.

rm -rf node_modules early, rm -rf node_modules often. And if that doesn't work, quit your job and pick up a trade, like plumbing, or joinery.
