I thought that in theory it didn't matter what instance a community was on. It seems like that's maybe not the case..?

I'd second the suggestion to create something on Lemmy, then. It's supposedly easy enough to create your own community on here.
Not seen any on Lemmy/Fediverse but you could check out ovarit.com
That's strange. I've just tried and I can confirm it's the same for me.
I'm also on android and for most apps this is something controlled in the system settings and I'm pretty sure is managed by the OS and not individual apps.
I wonder what jerboa is doing differently..
I also notice that the formatting buttons and the second half of the text box go off screen, underneath the keyboard as I type.
I wonder if there's a repo or an issue tracker where we can better report these things?
Seems like the ability to migrate instances would be really useful..
Hopefully with more and more instances located in different places around the world it shouldn't be too hard to find a community or communities that are not so US-centric..
Second this. It would be nice to have a way to hide posts you've already seen.
I also think there could be a little stronger visual differentiation between read and unread posts, if they're still shown.
It seems to me that people from other instances can still downvote things on instances that don't allow downvotes anyway, is that correct? It looks to me like I can downvote things on beehaw, but maybe that's just the interface it shows me and in the background it does nothing..?
